I thought this part where they give us a star map/guide to their home star system in the Libra constellation was pretty cool. A very nice rendering of the 3D nature of constellations snuck in there as the camera zooms around the constellation connecting the dots. Hell yeah. when a bunch of people are in a really good/bad/motivated mood then things can happen. resonance is i think understated. this is kinda how the dot tries to work i think. mood and modes and your own peculiar things all matter. its what i think about when i do mindfulness stuff. the first thing i had to realise was that actually i could be wrong about fundamental things but also, and more importantly, there are more things to learn, deeper levels of chill, much random confusion and i will never ever see it all. never get to wherever there is. but i see what i see and they see me too and its certainly a thing worth experiencing i have no power at all. i have all the power i need. it can drive you mad how these two can nag me. knowing everything and knowing nothing at the same time. being aware of that. its all very strange. the depths we go through. the guilt the joy the pride the humiliation of all of it. we are all so very alive and it hurts and the thing we want from the stars is more than a mirror of us we just want company i think

My partner was telling me about some article or something that she'd read (just as likely postmodernity's equivalent, the twitter thread). It was about how, as more people start to go to therapy, grapple with generational traumas, generally adopt more free, authentic and compassionate behaviours (the dreaded "woke"!!!), gentle parenting, spirituality and wellness and sobriety the like, there is a corresponding reaction from an ever-shrinking hardcore of (mostly older, but not always) people who hate that other people are becoming kinder and happier and healthier, and are falling out and away from patriarchy, racism, heteronormativity, economic, social and political hierarchy, etc. They feel envious, they feel threatened, and they feel abandoned (though they'd never admit it or word it as such). I would love for that to be the case, and for all this stuff about 2024 onwards being an inflection point towards a more positive future, and the current ascendency of reactionary politics and war and cruelty and deprivation to be the last gasp before the Great Awakening. But it's hardly the first time the Death of the Right has been greatly exaggerated, and material conditions aren't exactly getting any better...
