Panthers: Maybe not enough cap space to be the high bidder, but Maurice loves veteran assholes more than anything. Leafs: No cap space Lightning: Lots of LTIR space right now, so a possibility Red Wings: Strong possibility. Lots of space, love veterans, no conscience Senators: No cap space Rangers: Have the cap space, but already doing great so I'd be surprised Flyers: Limited cap space, not sure he's a Torts kind of guy Hurricanes: Maybe the favorite IMO. The Rangers need a top-6 RW and a third line center. Perry is neither at this point. I have to think that Drury has been on the phone with Anaheim about Vatrano for at least the last month, but the price is too high right now given the season he's putting together.

People like Paul Maurice and Stevie Y and the people running the Hurricanes aren't gonna care that he got kicked off his team. But he sucks pretty bad now so you still may be right. Anytime there are multiple interested teams the price can easily go up higher than you expect, though.

The Leafs could easily make cap space, they’re running a full roster plus replacements for Woll and Reaves who still count against the cap, send down Lagesson and McMann and they’re fine. I hope they don’t, because they don’t need Perry and gently caress that guy, but they could.

I kind of agree the Flyers had to respond to the Hayes stuff in some way. You can't let rumors like that fester, especially when by proxy it results in the hateful messages sent by some scumbags to Kevin about his brother. And I think was key for Torts to state that he and Hayes had their disagreements, but it was all business and nothing personal.
