You know what’s awesome car poo poo? Snow tires.

I have snow tires on my Alfa Romeo and twice today I shot up hills that I watched Jeeps have to turn around and go back down on.

Found some new Hot Wheels (and a LEGO).

Y'all like wagons right? Good news:

I'm missing #3, the Datsun Bluebird (510) wagon. There were plenty of the others on the pegs, but not that one, which I wager a JDM weeb snagged all of them for eBay.

They're all neat, but I think the '66 "GTO" wagon deserves special notice for being a phantom.

These are just some 2023 New Models I didn't yet have.

Speaking of, the 2024 New Models have started showing up:

That first one apparently is the winner of last years Hot Wheels Legends show series.
Yeah, that's a monster Kei truck.

Som rando "Adventure Force" vehicles that I found nifty:

They had the old Bronco in.. red, I think it was, and the Blazer in yellow and white as well.
Previously, I had picked up a '70s Ford 4x4 for the friend who inherited his dad's '77 I posted about in my own thread.

I could not resist the Countach:

edit: crap! I just realized I forgot to grab the Matchbox Autozam AZ-1 I found!

Cool Hotwheels poo poo is the braille Twin Mill they sold last year. I picked a couple up because they were rad and late last year a friend of mine started working at a school for blind/partially sighted kids. So of course I donate the cars and recently she gave one to a kid as a good luck charm for a test and the kid appreciated it. Oh my heart. :kimchi:

We legit got over a foot of snow in the last 24 hours, near blizzard conditions.

My gf lives near the bottom of the hill I was talking about, right on a roundabout, on the edge of town so the plows hadn’t been by for like at least 8 hours and wouldn’t be by until sometime in the AM last night. Her living room couch provides a perfect view of seeing people getting stuck yesterday.

We’re not total assholes just sitting inside shaking our heads at people, we helped dig out 5 cars and get them turned around back down the hill (or into their driveway, see below).

One was a DoorDash driver and I cursed the people who were ordering delivery; go gently caress yourselves, go endanger your own lives.

Three were just people trying to get home from work that lived up the hill, gently caress their employers for not closing one goddamn day or not letting them work from home.

The last person I had no sympathy for, one plow had gone by that side of the street and put a 3 foot snow dam across their driveway. They saw this and decided to YOLO it anyway in their Corolla and then proceeded to end up blocking 3/4 of the street. My gf had to convince me to help on this one if I’m being honest.

Then I had to move my car to the opposite side of the street due to snow emergency rules so I went ripping around the neighborhood for a bit and had no issues because snow tires loving rule, take your all seasons and go dump them in the trash where they belong.

The last few times I've helped stuck people, its always been the same story.

"When you start rolling, take it easy on the throttle ok?" (I don't even bother trying to tell people how to rock, it's impossible.)

And as soon as they think they're unstuck they floor it and get stuck again after two feet. Repeat several times before they are unstuck enough, they *never* stop doing the full-throttle routine.

great looking and sounding car, in fact i am surprised they somehow managed to make a V6 sound so good.

is this some sort of casual club event? the driver seemed to have his hands full even to the point of losing his confidence after looping it, and still caught up to the previous car before the top. surprised a sanctioned event would allow that to happen, and i assume these are not professional drivers?

I have that one! Neat idea, and Twin Mill is one of the most "Hot Wheels" Hot Wheels there is. I mean, two blown big block Chevies? Flip up canopy? The fact that they made a real one that not only looks cool, but actually runs and drives on both engines?
It sounds bad-rear end, too. Hung around long enough at the show in 2022 to talk with the Mattel guy who was the caretaker for the car on the tour and get some history and hear him start it up. Made my day.

I've always like Deora, as well, but that actually started life as a real show car.

That 4-wheel drift at the beginning was lovely. Is that a Capri he was dueling with near the middle? What the heck engine was in that thing? I couldn't decide if it was a V8 winding out, or a similarly high strung V6. It definitely seemed to have more grunt than the BMW once it got boiling.
