This track has a real King Diamond/Mercyful Fate vibe to the first minute that I really enjoy:

I think the twin lead guitar just does it for me. I've listened to this album a few times and a lot of the solo work reminds me of 80s Vinnie Moore style guitar work.

Sexcellent! :perfect:

My friend and I couldn't get to a GWAR show before Brockie's death, but for a few years I went to their shows when they'd tour here. Each time their opening acts got better which was cool. I was front and center against the railing most of the time which meant I'd leave each show with a sore gut and my shirts would only be one color from how much entrails I got blasted by.

These days I don't do concerts, but my brother-in-law works venues and saw both them and Bloodywood and he said they're both great.

COME TO SOUTH AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't live there - just bustin

E: I was fortunate enough to have met Brockie 1 on 1 back in 2012 as it was part of a bonus for kickstarting a RPG book he was working on. I had a poo poo eating grin on the entire time and he was so cool to talk to. We discussed some NFL stuff then he went into the lore for the upcoming GWAR album. Dude rocked.

I need to get these pictures developed and hung up on my walls some day.

The harmonized lead sound is so buttery in the most 80’s way possible and I love it. I took a minute to warm up to the cleanish vocals but now I’m super into the theatricality of it all. Great album.

They were fun at the time, right? I loved that they had a Missing Foundation connection, but gently caress that whole story ended badly, with the two brothers and their dad who helped form the band all ending up dead way too soon :rip:

Jari posted on Facebook that Time II is 100% done. More news to follow, but I won't lie - i'm quite looking to hearing what they put together with all that RAM and 500-piece orchestras. The first Wintersun album is an absolute masterpiece, and a few songs that followed were also great. He just needs a bit of a editor, as the songs can generally go on longer than needed.

Yeah I agree with the editor commentary. Time I has maybe 25 minutes of good material on it and the rest is just filler.

Time II is just a rerelease of Time I with 400% more “fade in: an ancient enchanted forest” synth interludes and all the guitar solos removed.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and this one will have audible bass lol

Does anyone remember the band Six Feet of Foreplay? they did a song on the Killing Floor soundtrack, but one of the guys used to post here and put up a bunch of their demos. they were like really weirdly great zombie themed death metal, and were the first death metal band i ever really got into listening to, so they were a significant gateway band for me.

As far as i can tell some of their songs seem to only be found on my hard drive these days, but I was wondering if there was anyone else who remembered them and maybe had any more of their material. They've got 4 songs up on spotify but none of them are the songs I have from them from their myspace / SA days.

this still has one of my favourite lead-ins to a chorus ever, its such a cool build https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPMvYn7eQlM

wintersun's s/t is arguably the best melodeath album ever, time i is like half an album and a little overwrought but i love it anyway, the forest seasons is like an uninspired attempt to write sons of winter and stars four times
