I joke, but it's not like I've ever met the guy. Just because he wrote some bad fiction doesn't mean he couldn't be a mensch. (And lord knows I've wasted money on toy robots.) As for the Omnibot itself, as much as it's mostly a slow and complicated RC car, the fact that it's eyes light up in time with Ice-T kind of kicks rear end. It sure as hell put it ahead of my old Robosapien.
