We're moving to the house my wife grew up in for a few years, then back up this way. We didn't pick it by throwing darts at a map.

1700 for 900 sqft is solidly the cheapest place around here. The Bama house needs some renovations, but we have some big plans for the place including a huge garden, a small orchard of fruit trees, and a visual telescope observatory plus (crosses fingers) a radio telescope.

With political trends being what they are, being far-left in the deep south is more important than ever.

a few years doesn’t sound like much in orchard-making terms

the correct answer to where you go to church is "oh i attend a small home group run by some old friends". people will eat that poo poo up

i know all this because i was there in the 90s for two years. north east alabama to be precise.

"we don't go to church..." gets the sort of responses you see in those old movies like stepford wives when the robots start to short circuit

"...we're from england." was the way to reboot them. a little bit exotic but also gross and hosed up so suddenly everyone with a mansion is inviting you over.

I'm a southerner and very few people give a poo poo about church this much. I don't think I've ever been even asked about it unless you count the weirdo tongue speaking church relatives that everyone else in town mocks for being weirdos too.

Would you like to play a game?

They only did this because the governor stepped in and declared a state of emergency

Otherwise they would have played as scheduled. It's going to be like -30 wind chill in KC at the game there and they are moving forward with it tonight.

If they aren't re-enacting the Ice Bowl, is it a real game? :thunk:

There's a driving ban in buffalo but as long as you're not doing commerce it's fine.. I guess you can't Uber to the bills game because you wouldn't be traveling.

This looks like the fridge wasn’t warming anything (is a typical fridge even capable of running in reverse?), and the water was superchilled as temperatures dropped. The shaking as the person pulled the water out of the fridge was enough to jumpstart the phase transition from liquid to solid.

Edit: yeah, you can see the other bottle that got nudged in the final few frames. It turned solid also, so it wasn’t mere exposure to the air that did it.
