in the us insider trading requires some obligation to protect the information as matt levine would say, its a crime of theft from the company that owns that information a random passenger on a boeing flight doesnt have any obligation to boeing iirc in europe its different in that this obligation isnt necessary

o he actually wrote about it in today's column lol more or less says the same thing he always does since he talks about insider trading laws a lot: Matt posted:Thanks everyone. That’s how stock prices become efficient and how capital gets allocated to good uses rather than bad ones.
