Pretty sure this is a green heron (look up "zoop neck bird")

This looks like an Ibis of some kind, maybe a Glossy Ibis or a green ibis

Awesome set of birb photos! A lot of those have ranges into the US too so I was actually able to help with most of these.

Plz let me know if robin posting is becoming boring but...

Yesterday I came downstairs after dark to let the dog out, and when I went into the dark front hall, I noticed that there was a strange silhouette visible in front of the fanlight. Our very brave robin boy had come inside for a visit and had gotten trapped hours earlier. I turned on all the lights leading from the hall to the front steps, but it took a good 15 minutes of conversation and gentle poking to get my dear robin husband to go back outside. At no point was he upset or frightened, I just needed to give him time to work out the best way to get outside. I had to poke him gently with a golf club to get him down to a place where flying outside was possible, and the club was about 2 inches from him before he moved. The only thing really annoying him was all the spiderwebs caught in his toes, they were super-sticky
bad photo of the sleepy trapped gentleman

He was back for his breakfast this morning, so my poking him with a golf club does not seem to have caused any long-lasting offence.

You're going to have to do something a little more extreme than posting birbs in the birb thread if you want to get yelled at.

Kidding aside, I love all the pictures & stories in your posts, your robins are way cuter & seem to have more personality than our US version. Can't remember if it was here or one of the other cute/critter threads but I distinctly recall a video, maybe a TikTok that had an Irish girl with a robin eating out of her hand. She was speaking gently to it & it would peep back or puff up & pick at the seeds in her hand. It was super sweet, like she unlocked some secret Disney dimension :3:

We watched this bird catch a very large beetle then proceed to beat the poo poo out of it to break it into smaller bits it could eat.

It's some kind of flycatcher in the Kiskadee / Boat-billed/Social Flycatcher part of the book... maybe there's a list for that park that would help you narrow down the options.

THANK YOU :kimchi: I watch pro wrestling & her voice reminds me of Becky Lynch, I love the little chatter it makes when she says "you're like a puddin'" as if its so offended at the nickname lol

When the weather clears up I may have to get some pics & video of the 3-4 squirrels that hang around. One in particular will legit come right up to my patio door in the mornings & evenings, not tame but pretty dang close. Some days it'll hop right over & almost try to come inside to find where I'm keeping the goods  wildlife in general can be a trip but when you really earn that trust, it opens up a whole other world that you might've been unaware of before.

E: forgot to ask: is any of the chattering/chirping in that video matching up to what you heard with that little group & their soft songs? Curious if this one was trying to impress or thought the girl was a potential mate, then went off when he realized things weren't working

I love the sheer chaos going on there where the cat sees the bird and still either doesn't put two and two together or doesn't care, and the dog is probably trying to warn them.

I'm only a very amateur robinologist, but that does look like the bird is responding to her voice - the song is not the very quiet one, but it's in little short phrases, not the long one they do to declare their territory, plus he/she looks right up into her face. There is a least one other robin in the area, I can hear them singing a few times in the background, so her bird friend might also be talking to them.
