It did do that gag but the original look only lasted a couple strips before it got retconned, it wasn't a long term thing.

Speaking of Homestuck, where are tomorrow's comics being conceptualized? Homestuck, for better or worse, built a robust and powerful community that generated insane amounts of creative content, and we're all enjoying the product of that here in this thread - does a community like that still exist out there in some other form? Where are tomorrow's amazing comics gestating right now?

Webcomics are a very loose and diverse field. All kinds of comics get inspired by all kinds of other comics and once in a while you'll suddenly be introduced to an absolutely amazing comic that turns out to have been running for seven years already (have you tried Clown Corps?) New up-and-comers come out all the time, but when a comic is new you can never really be sure it'll stay the distance rather than go on permanent hiatus the moment the author gets bored.

I don't know who Intel is but I would like to submit Erfworld as the Enron of comics. Came up with a lot of money making schemes, over diversified, suddenly blew up in a way folks couldn't predict that left a lot of people heartbroken.

Well-played, Abaddon.

Also gently caress I love his full-page spreads like this, Super-Gog reminds me of Zeromus or an R-Type boss and that's exactly how I envisioned Gog at the height of her power.

I really like how directly this works as a rejection of her former self. Dave thinks he's so right and only perfect actions are worth taking, like she did when training Allison, but now she's embracing her own imperfections.

This comes up a lot but it is worth repeating - the comic comes out once a week but it's not supposed to be read like that. This wasn't supposed to read as some big reveal that you spend a week trying to figure out and then you're disappointed it didn't somehow cleverly subvert your expectations, it's supposed to read like a slight pause for effect, turn the page and read the end of the sentence. If you read the whole masquerade sequence in a block i think it works super well.

Gog is metal as hell.

So is the fish tbh. Megalodon+ size, lives in a glacial lake and breaks through the ice to breathe fire at people? drat right it could have been a demiurge
