Always remember that the former President was dumber than the dumbest person you've ever met by a wide margin

I've been to little podunk indy wrestling shows and I've been to major WWE PPVs, generally 90% of the fans there are fine and 10% range from "kind of weird" to "how is this person allowed to roam the streets?"

My last AEW show was probably the best crowd I've been in, but there was still a group of guys who kept getting up for food every 5-10 minutes and would loudly say stuff like "this match sucks" or "boring" while they did.

My last indy show had a guy taking picture of the women wrestler's asses, zooming in as close as he could, until somebody from security escorted him out.

I'm also consistently blown away by how many guys will react to my wife wearing a wrestling shirt and getting into matches with a mix of horror and anger. The last show we went to a guy literally started asking her to name her favorite matches, like he was going to catch her in a lie and find out she didn't actually like wrestling at all.

I remember being at a PWG a few years back and there was a girl wearing I think a bullet club shirt in front of me and my wife. And the guy in front of her started quizzing her. My wife wanted to step in but the girl handled her self very well.

I was at a podcast taping a few years ago and one of the people onstage was a young woman in a Ramones shirt. It got to a point in the show where they were taking questions from the audience, and this smug fiftysomething fart said "can the girl in the Ramones shirt name three of their albums"?

The heat that guy got was a blowtorch. The rest of the audience just loving despised him.

My wife plans to kill me at a wrestling show and, in the ensuring chaos, blame some hapless fan or wrestler for it. She'll then inherit my vast fortune and live a life of leisure, burning her Dark Order is Good t-shirt in a trash can as a final insult to injury.

Thankfully I have a bunch of guys looking out for me by asking her if she thinks the Rock will beat Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania.

Getting back into full time wrestling fandom early in the year through Wrestle Universe was absolutely wild because after watching some TJPW shows I really loved I proceeded to go online to look for any information about the wrestlers and stories I wasn't able to pick up just by watching and realized that there are swathes of people out there who are watching wrestling very differently from me to the point that it feels utterly alien trying to talk about it

Last AEW show we went to, my partner mentioned I got her into wrestling and she genuinely enjoys it (dare I say watches more than me at times). Two guys in front of us overheard and when she left they congratulated me and told me to never lose her. It was kind of sweet and not at all as goony as it sounds since they were just normal fans.

But there we have a fine example of access journalism, where Chris van vliet is too much of a wuss to actually have any standards about who he interacts with, and best not to possibly rock the boat or insult someone who, say, did his best to kill the business like Vince Russo

Yeah I would say Enjoy wrestling has some of the best friends I've made; though it's cheating since I know a lot of them since it's a lot of Pittsburgh leftists, trans people, and the wrestlers themselves. Enjoy would say is unique since the owners really don't want it to be a "Wrestling Fans" promotion they get great talent but market to the "hey this seems cool and never gone to a wrestling show before" vibe

I think he's saying that Tam didn't lose to Megan in her Stardom debut title match so it's Tam's fault that Megan will fail in America. But then adding that no one would have cared about Megan regardless.

Those dudes, basically, are always just saying the same contrary poo poo all the time. Don't push OC (one of their hottest crossover stars, and the guy who got people like my wife into it) because he's "comedy" (obv a fundamental misunderstanding of his character), don't have blood, don't listen to and then only listen to Punk depending on where in that timeline, don't push athletic young guys and instead have plodding walk and brawls, and most importantly, hire them and give them money. When are they saying anything that needs to be paid attention to?

More importantly, while there's seemingly a hard cap on viewers, isn't it mostly because of how TV works now? Was TNA ever #1 on its night on cable? I remember it was basically always the same rating, regardless of whatever old dude they brought in, to the point of animated gifs about that fact, but how did it rate compared to the rest of TV at the time?

I also want to throw a rock at both the article writer and Bully Ray for the line "Khan didn’t grow up underneath the learning tree of a wrestling promoter, therefore he’s not technically a booker, but a matchmaker." What a horseshit sentiment all-around, pedantic gatekeeping nonsense like the toxic old kitchen dudes who won't call a CdC a "chef" because they aren't in a brigade system. Most of the dudes who grew up under that "learning tree" booked poo poo like Hogan/Flair TNA, botched the incredibly obvious WWE Summer of Punk, hosed up Bryan's push until they failed forward with him, (insert all of modern WWE storytelling), and gave us the worst eras of RoH, made the immobile Tyrus NWA champ, and that's not counting all the garbage Midwest vanity indies, etc. Not a sterling track record.
