We watched a random Step Up knock off on Netflix and turns out it was a Sabrina Carpenter flick. “Work It”. It is not a good Step Up knock off.

Sabrina Carpenter still partially exists in my mind as Girl Meets World’s version of Shawn even though I didn’t watch a single episode of that show Rowan Blanchard still seems way cooler even though her career is much less interesting at this point

Reputation announcement tonight?

Mr Ice Cream Glove posted:Reputation announcement tonight? Hell yeah Reputation is a totally underrated album. I think both Reputation and Lover suffered from weird single selection — in Reputation's case, the lead single (Look What You Made Me Do) is probably one of the weakest songs on the album, and the best song (Gorgeous) was never released as a single as far as I know.

After the disappointment of the new version of 1989, an album I actually love, I don't have much enthusiasm for either Reputation or Self Titled Debut. Can we just get this over with and go back to real albums?

Imagine the power you must have to win Album of the Year for an album that isn’t even in your top 5 best albums when it came out 1. Evermore 2. Speak Now 3. Folklore 4. Red 5. 1989 6. Midnights 7. Reputation 8. Lover 9. Fearless 10. Self-Titled DC Murderverse fucked around with this message at 05:38 on Feb 5, 2024 |

in the 70s and 80s there actually are a bunch (tapestry, rumours, joshua tree, ...toto iv i guess is probably toto's best album) and then in the 90s the academy became terminally old and were very scared of new music and that is how it's persisted until today. artists can only be crowned as successes long after their critical peaks. unless you're adele i guess. by having one of her worst albums win album of the year, taylor swift is as powerful as steely dan, santana, u2, and... taylor swift, who also won for fearless

Bruno and Kacey both won for their best albums to this point, and Lauryn Hill counts too even if best is also only in that case. Also Jagged Little Pill and presumably that Norah Jones album. But yeah, wrong more often than right
