Having a small sailboat is pretty neat, actually. With good wind I could make it to Ærø and back over a weekend, and I wouldn't need to interact with a single electronic device on the entire trip.

I learned how to sail on a 1980s 29' mamba, we didn't even have a chart plotter until the last few years, so we used paper charts. I still prefer using paper charts for route planning and plotting positions.

I had a square stern Coleman brand canoe years ago that was bad rear end. Put a little trolling motor on it and I could toot around wherever fishing or pull it up and paddle along easily enough.
