Yeah definitely going Logitech in the future or possibly steelseries. Logitech had the best warranty service for years but I imagine it’s probably not as great now like everything. Ah well my first and last razer experience.

I have a Huntsman 2 from Razer. The keyboard is pretty nice. Not using their software, tho. My mouse is a G502 X Wireless from Logitech instead. It works also pretty OK, except that the battery runs down pretty quickly from all the LED poo poo.

That said, for most RGB customization, there's this new API in Windows that the very least both of my devices support out of the box. And probably lots more. So there's barely any reason to use third party software.

Looks like Hori has a new version out this April... a future purchase if i have the spare cash. :)

ehhh, I tried that Viper 8K mouse and it was a crapshoot as to whether or not your games would work with such a high polling rate.

The game needs to be compatible with 2k polling rate and higher. Most games can handle 2k natively, start to have issues at 4k and can't handle 8k at all unless they got patched for it.
This one is not Razer's fault. Any mouse using a higher polling rate would've run into the same issues as you did.

i think windows also wasn't well equipped to handle that many mouse events, at some point there was a windows update which made fast polling work better in games that previously choked

I saw something about that, is that the “windows dynamic lighting”? I should see about using that. I just set my keyboard, saved it onboard and then uninstalled their trash software.

I also use a Razer Tartarus V2 for FFXIV (but normal keyboard for everything else), and wrist rest has nearly completely fallen apart. I have one of the HORI TAC F14s black editions on preorder though so I’ll switch to it once those ship in April.

And the another benefit of doing that is that you get to pick what kind of switches you put in there.

I love my Logitech G602, and when the switches went bad (double clicking or not clicking at all), I replaced them with Kailh silent microswitches, and not only did I get my mouse working again, it made the clicks basically silent while still being tactile, so a small QOL improvement that I really appreciated.

Razer laptops are really quite terrible and their customer support is borderline hostile. Spending 3k on a laptop which you then have to spend hours loving around with just so that it isn't perpetually thermal throttling is bad enough, but the packaging is so ridiculously tight that it isn't a case of if your battery bloats, but when. After a month or so of trying to convince them to sell me a battery I eventually got worn down because it was like trying to communicate with a chatbot that has multiple personalities and they're all amnesic, and agreed to send the laptop to their central European repair facility. The laptop came back to me broken, in that it wouldn't work unless it was plugged into mains power and Windows would not recognise the battery they had installed at all. So they sent me a bill for a new motherboard at some absurd price like a grand and refused to admit that it was their fault.

Absolute tyre fire of a company.

Razer sucks poo poo too but my only issue (that I remember) I had was the speaker grills (they were stickers pretty much) were peeling off. Now I asked for replacements and the response was "Send in your laptop" which I of course did not do. As far as the laptop itself though, I remember liking it. Oh maybe the power adapter/port also ceased working I don't remember. Yeah sure gently caress it downgrade Razer too.

I’m pretty sure he had a 22 caliber rifle on his back, which gun nuts are quick to point out is piddly baby ammo, as if no one has ever gotten killed or hurt by a 22 caliber bullet before.

Plenty of people have gotten killed by .22's, its a bullet and bullets are dangerous.

Supposedly the mob used .22 for their hits because at point blank the bullet would penetrate the skull once and then just ricochet around, shredding up the brain meat.

I'm not sure if that is apocryphal, but seems like a pretty good counterpoint to handwaving the calibre of the rounds lol.
