Woke is just anything conservatives don't like at this point. I saw an article calling a tennis tournament woke because they had some kind of rules that the spectators couldn't talk during play or something.

Yeah, it's just the latest Little Golden Book of Everything I Don't Like™, which unfortunately is the heaviest nuance by volume of modern (and maybe even ancient) political discourse.

The border issue just flipped and it's hilarious. Democrats being the party that wants to secure the border, while Republicans dont isn't something I was expecting to see. Now they really have nothing to campaign on. At all.

Well the Republicans want to "secure" the border in that they want to be able to freely maim and murder any brown folks who are crossing said border. Dems are trying to help in non-warcrimey sort of ways from what I can tell.

Right, but it's terrible optics right now for anyone. It shuts a lot of dumb arguments down pretty quick. They always went to the border. Now they can't. They know full well saying they can use current laws is not a winning subject because it would have been done already if they could. Trump lost in court every time he tried to do something with an EO.

Hey Weird Mike, does your god know that you’re bearing false witness against your neighbor in deference to an idol that you’re putting before the LORD? Might want to cut that out, I’ve read chunks of the Old Testament and your god really doesn’t pull punches when people do this kinda poo poo!

Texas isn't gonna do poo poo Assuming that a succession was accomplished peacefully (let's just roll with this fantasy for a minute), I would presume that part of the deal would be all federal military stuff, including the nukes, being removed from the state would be part of the process. Texas wouldn't just get to keep all the US Federal military stuff that happens to be stationed there, although of course they would get the base infrastructure that couldn't be moved. It is possible that in the case of ICBM's they would remove the warheads and destroy the missiles in the silo's or something. But really any chatter about this is just for fun, as succession isn't something that is going to happen, it's just grandstanding by Texas politicians and groups.

Now they really have nothing to campaign on. At all. Eh, based on folks I've talked to irl, it hasn't changed much. The general reaction seems to be "of course Republicans aren't making a deal, if Trump gets elected they'll get everything they want anyway. And Biden could have done something earlier if he really cared about the issue." Philthy posted:Right, but it's terrible optics right now for anyone.
