If you watch some version of Shada at the end of the season (there's several of versions of Shada that try to finish the unfilmed portions), be sure to read Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and go, "A lot of this is really familiar."

Still pretty miffed that neither Doctor thought to do this when the confusion between 13 and Fugitive arose, and then the Doctor meets Gatt and IMMEDIATELY goes,"I know the best way to communicate the information I need.... Contact!" Now, you might be thinking,"Ahhh but if one of them is from the other's future, surely sharing information about their future is a risk the Doctor can't take with the Fugitive!" except, of course, that she uses Contact to show a past-era Time Lord the destruction and devastation of Gallifrey in the far future!

Specifically later on once it becomes the Bernice Summerfield series and The Doctor becomes President of the Universe. the doctor escapes the alternate universe to return to "ours" with Bernice (who is from here originally). Techno babble stuff happens, he left the Master as president, but he's actually suited to it. Maybe. But to the second point, Lisa and David are so good together since they were essentially a married couple in real life by then. Edit don't know why I referred to Lisa as Bernice

Yeah it doesn't look great by today's standards but I think it's still a pretty effective design and you can tell what they were going for. I just finished the story and enjoyed it. I plan to watch the other two entries in the Black Guardian trilogy as well. The titular undead were pretty interesting antagonists and their backstory and motivation were cool. Turlough is fun and there should be more companions every once in awhile who are just kind of dickheads. The Black Guardian is also very entertaining in his campiness and his little bird toupee is ludicrous.

Some really awful stuff, done very well, and a really cool revisionist take on Tomb of The Cybermen. I also really like how it functions as a sort of unofficial coda to the range, with the final episode mirroring the final episode from the Seventh Doctor/Benny/Dalek series. There are plans for more Benny stories though, the recordings just fell through because a (different) actor died. Actually, speaking of Benny, have you heard Timeless Passages? "Companion is a future Doctor" is one of the two parts of my showrunner pitch. The other is a story about a fugitive being pursued by a deadly foe titled "The Quarry of Death" or "The Quarry of the Daleks".

That’s the big reason I can think of not to do it: if neither is genuinely certain which one is past or future Doctor, establishing contact might be dangerous. Although in retrospect it’d be really obvious Fugitive is well in the past and had her memory wiped; the ambiguity is probably preferable to the implied storyline we get in Flux. “Doctor messes around with Time itself and ends up unmoored and disconnected from her own timeline” would be preferable.

Sometimes my BF listening gets ignored and I miss large swathes, most likely what happened here. As for Benny audios, I do remember trying her series starting from 1.1 back in the late 00s, and it was fun. Weird, cheap, early days of BF - but had some fun acting and concepts (Nicolas Courtney was in the one where all the ex-Who actors appear as characters from Alice in Wonderland, I think Nicolas is the Cheshire Cat? maybe?) My googling tells me Timeless Passages is 7.2 from her line - if it's accessible without being caught up, I'd like to give it a whirl this week. *after* I finish the Warner set, mind.

One of the subplots in Masterful sees this happen as well. It's interesting, ends up sending MacQueen's Master into a depression.
