The way I see it:
1. Vader immediately shut down any challenges to his authority because he is an evil fascist strongman who can never look weak.
2. Thrawn, being unusually intellectual for someone who managed to rise to a high position in a fascist empire, decides to listen to the officer (maybe also to challenge Vader's power)
3. Vader is still incredibly skilled and a prodigy pilot, so he quickly analyzes the commodore's suggestion despite not having considered it initially.
4. He doesn't challenge Thrawn and the suggestion further in public because that would make him lose face, but demonstrates that he's even more competent than the commodore by fixing her calculations.
5. Thrawn's like "Yeah, I'm smarter than her too, but neither of us thought about it. Let's roll with it."

Vader was actually being super nice to a girl he has a crush on because he was worried she would say something stupid and he had to choke her to death

This is an obscure request, but ages ago someone posted a panel of I think it was a pirate women doing pirate-themed dirty talk during sex. Then other people had fun making edits with different professions making similar themed sex talk. One of them was a psychiatrist, and the psychiatrist line was "show me on the me where you are touching me."

I have been trying to find this again for a long time but Google is no help. Does anyone else remember this?

Doesn't pop up a specific comic for me, but it sounds like their type of joke.

I managed to find it by googling snippets of the quote until I got a single hit to the article about it. Apparently, it is from a pirate comic called "Rawbone":

Rawbone #3 (2009)

Lumberjack

Comic Shop Employee

Tech Support

Astronaut

Grief Counselor

That grief counselor line stuck with me for all these years.
