Plasma is weaponising her BFA and I live for it. She is the energy of theatre kids condensed into a Drag Queen and she totally dominated last episode. I don’t think she’ll win because Ru likely has a thing against Musical Theatre queens (Jinkx not included) but I am happy she is here.

Apparently, they've already filmed the reunion (and possible the finale?) due to the writers strike. Which kind of sucks, if it means they won't be able to discuss stuff that happened during airing, i.e. fan reaction. Stuff like Megami's talent show becoming a meme or the popularity of Mirage's song, which btw just passed a million streams on Spotify.

Poor Mirage. I didn't think she deserved to be in the bottom and I was really excited to see what more she could show in the future. Being the host is hard work and I thought she did an admirable job, if unspectacular. There were half a dozen queens who didn't even give me a chuckle. Honestly the only standouts in the challenge to me were Plain Jane and Megami.

As she was sobbing on the floor I was like "can someone go up there and comfort her?? Goddamn" I hope to see more of her, she's pretty electric on stage.

Do the queens not all get told in advance what the lip sync song is gonna be so they can prep it? I always assumed they did but Mirage literally looked like she'd never heard it before

They get an iPod with all of the season's lip sync songs when they arrive, and are told at the start of the day of the lipsync what the song will be, so theoretically she should've known the lyrics.

I love this video because I think it shows that while Plasma is a Theater Queen she’s specifically an authentic Broadway Queen (and operating at that level), and deserves our attention even if she might not be able to keep Ru’s.

…the thing about Jinkx and Ru: Jinkx is IMHO specifically a vaudeville queen, a form of crass, rough around the edges, popular theater that’s much more in Ru’s wheelhouse than the polished BFA theater queens ever were.

As devastating as this elimination was, it warms my heart to see how enamored not just the fanbase is with her, but many fan favorite queens. In addition to Denali being quick to do a collab, Bob teased about wanting to do a verse if she ever does a longer version of her song.

And of course, this was Bob's reaction that night

I never thought of that, but it makes so much sense. I feel like we got the same vaudeville vibe from Willow as well.

Ok but you gotta consider the fickleness of production. Doing things in your comfort zone is good until they decide it's not because it's expected. It's just made worse by Dawn rolling up and being like me and my besties are going to go the most iconic skit together so we decided you'll take the Barbara role instead.

I'm actually happy it's a group win this time, 'cos they were far and away the most cohesive group. Honestly they were the only ones that felt like a "group" at all. They really supported each other during the performance and that's what made them great to watch. Also loved the name "Thick & Stick"

It was an odd outcome. I don't think Q necessarily deserved to be in the bottom, but nobody did particularly bad in the challenge. I do think Amanda did slightly better in the lip sync, but it was a weird song to lip sync to, and neither of them did particularly well. I think in the end that it was definitely based on overall performance so far in the competition, Q's been in the top each week, while Amanda's been in the bottom each week. It was the right choice.

Question, did the group who won all get immunity?

It was pretty satisfying to see the girls who have been struggling kill the challenge, especially with the other queens doubting them early in the episode.

The did get the only good song though, and I'm surprised production gave it to them.

Agree. Amanda totally won that lipsync. But I disagree with that other goon; Q just cannot dance and her outfit in the challenge left something to be desired, that Q magic. It was based on past work for sure, keeping Q in. Not that I mind. Amanda was a joy to see dance and give talking head, but her looks were crunchy. Plus, the show probably wanted to avoid Amanda punching PJ after one too many snide remarks.

bye amanda, glad you got to shine a little going out and grats on the egg crack. purely based on runway taste levels exhibited thus far I’m thinking the next few eliminations are megami, geneva, and mhi’ya, with the latter lasting so long out of meme value mostly

glad rate-a-queen has largely been dropped for now but feels like it was a misstep so far awarding the immunity potions to two proven-strong queens. there’s potential later for a queen who knows she hosed up hardcore to beg either of them for protection but its not giving drama yet (and isn’t as funny as the chocolate)

nymphia and sapphira are still my first and second respectively but I’ve found myself enjoying morphine and plasma’s output quite a bit as well. dawn has my favourite overall aesthetic but she’s middle-of-the-pack for now. I’m mildly surprised that they haven’t come for her mug the same way they did crystal methyd’s only a few years ago

Don't agree with that lipsync outcome at all but it's mostly expected that production picks what works best for their storylines unless the lipsync is particularly egregious. It's kind of insane as a judge (or Ru) to straight up say that someone doesn't Get Drag and then send them home. They absolutely didnt Get Willow either lol
