Tiggum posted:It's not something I've really heard people say but I've certainly noticed it about myself. In summer I'll be happy with something like salad and a bit of fish for dinner, whereas in winter I'll want a good solid meal. Yeah, here it’s a full on thing with a word and everything: natsubate is the state of having no appetite because it’s too hot. “Sorry, I can’t finish my meal, I have natsubate.”

Well, comics have a long history of kid characters getting absurd homework assignments, like Charlie Brown doing a book report on War and Peace or Calvin trying to assemble a bug collection.

I'm not aware of it as specific folk wisdom here in the states, but it does kind of make sense. I feel like people tend to want heavier foods in the winter - thick soups and stews, stuff like that - which I presume have more calories. Vintage Valiant (Aug. 06, 1961) Finally Val sets Ohmed free.

Interesting, for some reason I always assumed law was stuffier about itself and wouldn't work like this. Of course in his other strip Holbrook had the mouse guy get a PhD without seemingly taking or teaching any classes and doing research entirely by reading books part time. Hippy knows that it's socially inappropriate to pretend to be disabled and is threatening to cancel the Snail, clearly.
