Dragon's Dogma has so many weird mechanics but the pawn system is neat, especially how other players can use your pawns and then when you get them back they might have knowledge of quests or monsters you haven't encountered yet. And you can talk with them at special tables to change how they behave in combat. I only just made it to the capital which is where it seems like the game throws a bunch of new stuff at you like extra classes and stuff. Just gonna ignore the main quest for awhile and explore stuff. I could see how the graphics and kinda boilerplate art direction could turn people off, but it's charming. I've been spoiled by how Elden Ring handles stamina because I hate how often you drain it just by exploring the overworld, even when you're not in combat.
