(10 at bats) Wasn’t that long ago he was on the top prospect lists for the Jays. Just seems weird to move him for cash before ever really giving him a shot at the big league level. I can’t imagine he’d be worse than Biggio over a full season

I think Rintaro Sasaki saw Roki Sasaki's (no relation) issues with getting posted by the Marines and decided he didn't want to deal with the NPB. I bet that something changes on the free agent or posting timeline after this. Or I guess they could bring back the rule that barred players skipping the draft from the league for 2-3 years.

Royals are going for a new downtown stadium. I'm sure they'll get it because American sports fans love paying billionaires to build things so that they can continue to pay the billionaires each time they use it. It's been transparently obvious getting the votes for stadium funding is the sole reason they've been signing decent FAs and gave BWJ his big deal, and once the check clears, they'll go back to being the same cheap-rear end Royals.
