i like cookies, which is why I keep a 25 pound bag of flour, 5 pound bag of sugar, a few pounds of butter, and 5 pounds of chocolate chips, all from Costco. I just make chocolate chip cookies whenever I want now, and I've done it do many times it takes like 20 minutes beginning to end.

15c/kwh at Costco is a good price though, and not much more than you'd pay at home. If you're paying 50c or something at EA then yeah it's the same price as just paying for gas.

That's going to be highly regional. Here in AZ, 15c/kWh would be higher than any electric rate except for summer peak hours, and it'd be double the overnight "super off-peak" hours offered to EV customers.

Given that most newer EVs are pushing 200+ miles of range, destination charging should be something you're only doing if it's literally free or on road trips.

Depends on where you live. Here in GA 12c/kWh is the peak rate! When I'm charging at night, it's 1.5c/kWh.

That being said, I would like to see Costco enter the DC fast charging game. I'd love to enjoy a slice of pizza while on a road trip.

But you gotta freeze bagels you're not using since they go moldy in 2 days.

That's interesting. I dunno if I don't have the right strain of bagel mould in my kitchen but bagels of various brands will happily last a couple of weeks for me without going mouldy or noticeably stale (after a week or two if they get drier I stick them in the toaster). I just assumed that they are like north-east Scottish butteries (best bread product) and are essentially eternal.

Bagels from the supermarket can last two weeks on my counter, and bagels from an actual Jewish bagel place can last a couple days in a paper bag before turning into dry bricks but they still don't get moldy. Multiple posters here have had Costco bagels turn blue in a couple days. I think it's a combination of having no preservatives but still being in a plastic bag so they're moist.

Anyway, it's not the end of the world, just slice the ones you aren't going to eat immediately and put them back in the bag then into the freezer. That way when you take one out the two halves will break free. As opposed to trying to cut one while frozen and slicing your wrists open or something.

If you are gonna toast them anyway they won't taste any different, it's great having a decent backup breakfast item in the freezer. Costco bagels are decent but they aren't some special hand crafted artisan products so freezing is a pro-tier move. (But 100% slice em first)

The muffins are also great in the freezer - just half or quarter and bag them up once they are frozen firm.
They last months and are basically perfect once defrosted.

We normally stock up the freezer before term starts and work through it when we don't have fresh options handy for the kids school lunches/snacks

It really is this though, especially if you're parking outdoors regularly. Even more so if you're under a pine with all of the needles getting everywhere.

Never park under a pine tree. I found that out last summer when my car became a magnet for pine sap. Let me tell you, if you don't clean it off ASAP, it'll harden into a godforsaken goop that just does not come off. It'll absolutely RUIN a paint job. Had to spend hours cleaning that poo poo off.

just had a great experience at costco!

ive just been prescribed blood pressure meds for the first time in my life, and feeling lovely and old about it.

went in and they rang up as 22 bucks.

the pharmacy guy said hang on a minute, are you a member? let me see if we can get you any discounts. i said yeah and they scanned my card.

he went in the back, came back out and rang me up at 60 goddamn cents.

thank you costco, that certainly took the edge off of this day for me. :)
