I've been playing a bit of DRG Survivor during the downtime and apparently that game is blowing up too. I saw that it has had higher concurrent players than DRG ever did.

Just ran a 2 man Suicide mission, nabbed the supersamples, and nuked the bugs. Incredibly tactical all the way even just with autochat battlebarks, and on the razor's edge of how difficult I can deal with. Just so satisfying to pull that poo poo off.

That's why there's a joke in-game about it being an adjustment for an 'accounting error'. I don't think the XP boost is why server stability has gone straight to hell - its because the game has exploded in popularity over the past week, for reasons that have nothing to do with bonus XP. Nobody is going to buy a new game because they heard there was bonus XP to be had. It's just the weekend.

Yeah I'm actually really impressed with their comms on this. It's by far the most grown-up messaging I've seen around this kind of problem. It's nice to see them saying things to the effect of 'we're trying our best against a notoriously hard-to-fix issue, the scale of which is constantly ballooning, but also we might not be able to fix it, which we know sucks, and we're not necessarily going to make our entire team work around the clock' because they are people who need rest'. Obviously, it's annoying to not have been able to play this weekend, but I appreciate a tone that feels a bit more grown-up and rooted in reality than the sycophantic 'we respect you, the Gamers, more than we do ourselves, and we live to serve you, the customer' you get from a lot of (American) developers.

You can really feel that this is a medium sized business doing their level best when they get a million orders day one for a thing they thought had limited appeal. E: it also seems like pre-orders weren't massive and everyone bought the game immediately after launch because so many people (like me) heard player feedback saying it owns or saw a stream/clip of the game in action.

Watching a stream of the game since I am jonesing for more LIBERTY and good lord the big orbital barrage (308 or something) looks fantastic. I am certain I will blow up 2-3 teammates and myself every time I use it but that might be a worthwhile sacrifice.

The pro Strat on harder modes when you are completely overwhelmed at extraction with a huge haul of materials is to get the team on the point then bomb yourself to kingdom come with orbitals, killing your enemies, and drop the goods right there for the next frosty boy to pick up and carry to safety.

"We're doing this to celebrate how awesome we are" is something completely made up lol. super earth's having a bit of a credit crunch, they are post dating their checks. I think it's Mentes? where I had a similar feeling hearing bug clicking and squealing through dense foliage, fog and rain. Just a lot of subtle panic as I'm scanning the bushes before a gout of acid sprays from the underbrush, crippling my legs.

Yeah, I feel this game deserves support and understanding for the troubles they and the players are having. It's frustrating not to be able to Liberate, but it's a sign that Democracy is alive and well.

The bonus is insane. If you manage to do three missions you get 7 missions of xp and req. Last night we played six games and didn't know what to do with all the req.

I knew I should have tried to play a ton this week before the servers got bad. On the plus side I noticed that the devs fixed the trainer/cheating issue. The only real trainer that worked for Helldivers 2, threw in the towel right away with the latest update because the devs directly targeted their trainer.
