hoping the lightning beat the panthers today! there’s something weird about the lightning’s logo which kind of fucks me up though, i can’t decide if it’s “evil corporation from a video game” or “mediocre urban brewpub that goes out of business after 2 years” but it’s kind of distracting

Fantastic that even after they fire DJ Smith and the team starts playing up to their talent level, they're still consistently sunk by awful goaltending from Korpisalo. Good thing Dorion gave him the Murray2.0 contract.

Stars were visibly 2nd best team for most of tonight and now they are trying to crawl to OT. Feels like they are skating through mud. Not good. **OT was clearly the best possible result the Stars could have possibly achieved with the energy they had available for today. Stars trend of getting outplayed by other top teams continues but luckily so does the Stars trend of getting points in games they never deserve a result from also continues. With Hakanpaa going down this might press Nill into making a move.. if he's out it's 5 d-men on the roster and nobody in the minors who is anywhere near capable of competing at a NHL level.

I’m begging for the NHL to add a time limit to the offside challenge. Buffalo just had a goal taken back because they were offsides 30 seconds before. Just insane.

I mean, hell, Toronto will sometimes even call in to a game to tell the refs to stop play and review a goal/no goal call from minutes earlier. You'll just have to deal with there sometimes being a long wait for an offside challenge

Teams get away with breaking rules countless times every game. Two guys skating into the zone on a 2-on-1 scoring but then having the goal called back because the offside call was missed makes sense because it was part of the same play. That was the point of the challenge in the first place. Turning the clock back 30 seconds because a guy was offside by less than an inch is dumb as hell and makes the game less enjoyable to watch.
