Works like other eagles except you only get one use of it before it has to rearm. Compared to the other strikes I feel it's a bit underwhelming in terms of effectiveness other than for niche cases you can also solve in other ways (ie: getting rid of bile titans). Despite the huge explosion the actual effective range seems tiny, similar to Hellbombs. Ive tried it a couple times now and I always go back to some other strat to fullfill 500kg roles. Regular strikes or clusters wipe out groups more reliably than the 500kg, and the orbital laser/railguns do a better job of deleting big targets/objective structures.

Wish I could see a stat for "distance traveled via stalker whoopin". Had a level 4/challenging mission where there must have been 2 stalker lairs near an objective. The squad was constantly getting ragdolled/killed until we got out of there.

Does the level of divers in your squad affect difficulty/enemy density? Had a level 36 with us and I felt like I was running for my life the whole time they were in the squad.

It'll be hard to play without the shield backpack after trying it, being able to just tank 1 shot kills like vomit streams and hunter dogpiles and completely ignore a head-on charger rushing through you without getting knocked down or staggered.

Anybody else just cannot unlock difficulties? No matter what I do, level 3 just stays locked. Seeing a smattering of others with this issue out there and no workaround. The game's fun and all and I'm really looking forward to things escalating difficulty wise, so for those on the fence about taking the plunge or waiting, just wait until they get their poo poo together I'd say.

It is permanent and when it breaks it takes a few seconds to recharge back up, it is a invisible second rechargeable healthbar that gives CC immunity.

Nah, just stay at the lower difficulties until you get a good feel for things.

You can even roll solo and gently caress around without consequences.

It's definitely not but there's some server issues going on that may give you a pretty bad first impression. Higher difficulties are unlocked by completing easier ones and that progression marker is one of the things that also fails to update/sync sometimes.

There's 9 difficulty options. Eventually you will want to step up to harder difficulties to get higher tier materials for upgrading your ship modules, but there is plenty of fun to be had in the lower difficulties. I'm up to level 32 and I don't mind playing with people on low diff sometimes because you still need a fuckload of lower tier materials for upgrades. That and the game is still fun on lower difficulties. Sometimes it's nice to be able to just blast bugs instead of having to deal with Chargers and Spewers all day.

e: The game keeps peaking in player count before the devs can catch up on the back end, so prepare to be frustrated and maybe even unable to play depending on how it goes today. The game when it works is so good that I can easily look past these launch period woes.

Aye. The laser drone still seems useful for keeping small bugs of you, but the shield is just so goddamn useful.

You need to complete a campaign (series of 2-3 missions) on a given difficulty to unlock the next one. If that's not working, then it's probably server trouble.

It's definitely got that cool factor when you're flying around like the Mandalorian but pretty much every other backpack option has a bigger impact.

Wow defense missions are a lot different, I played three or four solo missions to destroy robot facilities with relative ease, so I decided to give an escort mission a try

30 scientists, I got four of them to the EVAC, robots killed seven, I accidentally killed two, then I ran out of reinforcements and failed the mission

Yeah I've completed the easy operation of one mission many times over. I think starting with medium it goes up to two missions. Somebody with the same issue pointed out that their career page shows zeros on a bunch of relevant things like mission time and successful extractions, and sure enough mine does too. So I guess I just get to wait even though the game is technically functioning now.

I love the Jetpack but it's not great. It seems to do a few things:
1. Makes you more defensive by being more mobile. (The Personal Shield Pack does this better, especially because the PSP will assumedly allow you to safely wear lighter and faster armor once that system is functional)
2. Makes you more effective at killing by being more mobile. (Hard to leverage into a significant enough advantage)
3. Gets you to objectives faster by being more mobile. (Hard to leverage into a significant enough advantage)

I think most people would still use the PSP, Autocannon, or Laser Rover in their Backpack slot even if the Jetpack didn't count towards your 4 Strategem slots. I don't know what the solution is, maybe decrease the cooldown by 50%, or they ought to just bundle it with the Arc Thrower, Flamethrower, and Grenade Launcher and give those guns special aerial attacks. (Currently firing while airborne is possible but you can't really aim and the default aiming direction if off to the side for some reason instead of downward at an angle straight ahead.) Since all three of those guns don't require precise aiming, it would be a cool change.

How does the premium warbond work? Is it like a limited time? Is the DLC just cosmetics?

Is the matchmaking broken? I haven't been able to join a quickplay or see other missions in progress, and I haven't had anyone join my game (set to Public). Matchmaking with friends works fine though.

I believe all warbonds are permanent and can be revisited at any time. The premium warbond is accessible via standard play, and has equipment that is unique but not inherently better.

they sometimes are not where the objective on the map shows up and they can stand very still when they are unaggroed. Or it's bugged out, that does happen a fair bit too

Speaking of war bonds, i hit level 20 last night as well as finally earning the 1k super credits needed for the first premium bond. I think, though, that I might wait to spend them because maybe I should get the super citizen upgrade and then I can use this currency for the next premium warbond?? Or maybe I’ll just shoot bugs because decisions are hard

seems like a lot of weapons are subpar in the premium warbond and the freebie. so I'm holding onto my super credits since who knows what balance passes are coming up in the future

Semantically, "you" is both singular and plural, though syntactically it is always plural. It always takes a verb form that originally marked the word as plural.

Also, there is no plural when the context is an argument with an individual rather than a group. Somfin shouldn't put words in my mouth.

ijyt posted:

They’re meh

The regular breaker is better. More damage on target more quickly.

The incendiary breaker has larger magazines but the spread is huge so the range is less and there’s a 40% damage nerf for it. Better at small mob management but otherwise worse in every way. Waste of 60 medals IMO.

Just buy the weapons and warbond, especially if you don't already have 4 boosters. If you earned enough superbucks and medals in 1 week, you'll easily have enough for the next in a month.
There are plenty of weapons where the actual strength isn't really listed in the stats screen.
They are not going to release Warbond III: the better version of everything you already have.
And if they do? You'll be able to buy everything just as quickly.

First mission, kill quota, a little stressful but not bad thanks to my sentries. got stuck up on a tower on a redeploy, slammed a stim and jumped off, trusting managed democracy and advanced pharmaceuticals to negate any damage.

AND THEN THE EVACUATION MISSION. I think they tuned these down, because through a miracle and a lot of stims I was able to get thirty nerds into their stupid nerd evacuation bunker. this will provide some measure of comfort to my family, as there was no way in hell I was making it off that rock.

Unless you get rid of superflous things like your pilot's legs to give you more room for bombs.

The final eagle upgrade gives you 1 more use of each eagle munition per load, including the 500kg.

Sometimes it be like that. Especially when the servers are full. Sometimes i've done that, and then the next mission I have the thing unlocked. Sometimes it isn't unlocked even 4 missions later but I can buy it.
