Whoever said this looks like a knockoff version was spot on. They seem to have landed the general aesthetic but it's just slightly off somehow. Curious how the voice acting matches up to the original show, it sounded pretty close to me but it's been ~20 years.

Can't lie hearing the theme still gets me hyped but even the allure of nostalgia can't disguise what a blatant cash grab this is. Wouldn't put it past them to have Deadpool (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) show up in this to maximize that sweet crossover promotion potential.

This would actually be cool so you can rest assured Marvel won't do it.

They got as many of the original VAs as they could*. Wolverine sounds kinda old but that's the only problem I have so far.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I think the animation is a stylistic choice but clearly computer-generated to save money.

I don't think they will go full synergy on this but might go with blatant fan service. Since Sinister is already confirmed, I wouldn't be surprised if they bring Apocalypse back, especially since the original show left that possibility open.

* The original VA for Jubilee refused to reprise the role since she is white and wanted Jubilee to be voiced by an Asian actor. She was still given a job on the show as a yet unknown character.

I love that “trailer” and it’s wild it was for a mobile game. Great little short film.

I love how the songs change to fit the nation being presented.

This is also ironically a more grim depiction of WW2 than some movies about it. Like zooming into a bullet hole on a dead soldier to show his mourning family. Literally ends with two old generals watching young men die.

I always found it so interesting how the original show had a handful of Deadpool cameos (no lines) when the character was so new that he had yet to even meet Wolverine in the comics by that point. I don't think they had even hinted at his Weapon X backstory in the comics during all that, but the cartoon always suggested he was a figure from Wolverine and Sabretooth's past.

There’s MORE Warpath trailers/short films!

I have never heard of this mobile game before, the goddamn if they don’t have the best game trailers i’ve ever seen.

Activision and EA have never put out anything this incredible for CoD or Battlefield.

this sucks

theyre just doing scenes from band of brothers & fury & so on with an equally high budget, but its not cut very well and the light is too bright, everything is super vivid. which is ok in a scene but not in a whole thing, imo, and nobody acts together, theyre all being extras, which could be intentional but i dont think it is

also the protagonist looks like hes super high on drugs, which idk if its a plot point in the game and if so, i retract this one criticism

Yeah I don’t get the praise. It’s a bunch of cliched reconstructions of famous war film sequences but even more war-porny and a lot more green-screeny. It feels kind of gross? And all for a mobile game. The thread doesn’t need to be cluttered with this trash.

Yeah, it's weird and hyper vivid and offputting, despite also being very very silly.

Yeah, that seemed unapologetically ‘Murica. I mean blowing up the Lincoln Memorial is a little on the nose but if this is a criticism of radicalism, that trailer barely hints at it.

I just found out Eli Roth is directing this. This movie is gonna suck so bad.

Let me list my favorite Eli Roth movies, like....or, uh...

Side note, it's crazy that this is an Eli Roth movie. Not that it would help, but this feels way more like a James Gunn or a David Ayer movie (basically yes, Suicide Squad).

Ok, but still the rest of his filmography is good so far. Again not saying it'll be good necessarily - the second trailer was crap - but that he has done some good stuff so I'm always inclined to at least give his stuff a try.

Yeah, but he also wrote 28 Days Later and Dredd (including uncredited directing work), and did Ex_Machina.

Even the best directors can have a clunker or two in their oeuvre. If it’s poo poo, it’s poo poo, and in that case so be it, you were right, you’re a brain genius and it turns out your name was Alfred Einstein, but making declarative statements about the quality of the film largely sight unseen and criticising it based on speculation doesn’t seem particularly fair on someone who’s body of work has largely been largely solid.
