In general I am quite happy with this remaster, it has some rough edges but I also think genuine care went into it (unlike GTA or MGS). But I kinda expected that given that they hired the OpenLara dev to lead it.

Found an easy busted build in Balatro: Midas Mask on the left so it triggers first, Vampire then sucks the gold out of all your face cards for up to an extra 1.0 multiplier every hand you play. Blueprint is to the left of Vampire, and it copies the full multiplier, so at 10x my score grows to 100x. I've been watching some Balatro, aaaaaand I don't really get the appeal. Like, the game is definitely Numbers Go Up, but it just doesn't seem that fun to me Guess this is a similar situation to Vampire Survivors where I'm not in tune with the current zeitgeist.

Also that movie has been done since like 2021 and then had 2 years of reshoots so even if you're a Borderlands superfan for some reason I think it will be a very bad movie.

The core appeal of Balatro is the distilled "combine bullshit to make broken combos" potential (mixed in with some deckbuilding). Instead of Binding of Isaac builds that blot out the screen with giant bullets that explode for 100 damage, it's poker hands and making number go up. Also as was said, the whole thing is insanely polished. I'm hovering over the buy button on GMG myself because I loving love broken combo bullshit, but the fact that it is, ultimately, "just" poker and making number go up is making me hesitate.

He built that combo up himself. The appeal of it is taking a normal 52-card deck and distorting it into an absurd combo machine that practically plays itself
