If there was a motor at each wheel, how easily could a vehicle spin around in one spot if the left side motors turned one way, while the right side motors turned the opposite way? I guess it would probably be traction dependent?

If you have hub motors, what's to stop you from turning like a tank? I feel like innovation isn't happening at the right pace

Also Rivian. And this video from BYD shows a tank turn on hard surface. If your drivetrain can withstand a hard launch I assume it can handle a tank turn on tarmac. And this technology isn't limited to SUVs and trucks. This video shows Zeekr 001 performance liftback doing it on rock slab surface. Weird seeing tires squealing at such a low speed. Disgruntled Bovine posted:True, however the torque vectoring possible with separate motors for each rear wheel works loving magic in cars like the Lucid Sapphire (not applicable here because the cybertruck is trash). Thats okay for a straight line bomb but on less than ideal surfaces that kind of max traction isnt actually what you want - you do want the tyres to spin esp if there's surface dirt or even on say slippery grass the electronic TC will have issues working out what to do, Mechanical is still by far the best option. Now electornic (preferably one you can dial in) AND mechanical? Yeah potentially mechanical to do the base work and electronic to add some trim, that would be exceptional and what I would think a properly designed Cybershit should have had from day one. Properly designed is doing a looooot of work here and the Cybershit is certainly not in any way properly designed

It's one thing to "know" people like this are out there somewhere, it's another thing entirely to have the crime scenes streamed directly to your living room.
