Yeah, stone cards do not count towards qualifying for any hand but they get scored regardless.

I just got a negative joker skip when I'm riding high and it's the x multiplier for empty joker slots you have one. gently caress! This run was going so mega well, too. Yeah, you can throw stone cards into any hand provided it's less than five cards. You can't, for example, do four diamonds and a stone for a flush, since a stone card is not a diamond card. Unless of course, you have Four Fingers.

Just got pretty far on my third or so run. Two cool things happened. Skipped first blind because the tag gave double the next tag. Next tag let me pick a joker. Ended up with the one that lets you make straights skipping single ranks which is insanely consistent. I forget what the other one was. Was doing well but the scaling was getting out of hand so I was hunting planets to boost flushes and two pair. Had a clubs boost so was trying to enlarge the deck and convert stuff to clubs. Was pulling around ten to fifteen k per hand on average. But I got the boss that gives you face down cards and that hosed my run. Kinda bullshit but I don't care I'm hooked now. I think I like spire better in terms of its cohesive design. But this has fun and wild combos of nonsense and a lot of bits to smash into each other. Dunno what the staying power will be for me but it makes a hell of a first impression. I would kill for bigger fonts or accessibility options to help someone with a visual impairment play it though. Does this have a run breakdown the way spire does?

Part of it was an early game Burnt Joker which let me discard single cards so I ended up with a Level 16 High Card, even after eating the Arm at one point. But the other part was just spamming a ton of high times-mult jokers. I want to say Card Shark, Constellation, Blueprint and Hologram? Kind of hard to read the postgame here, but the last one definitely explains the 70+ card deck. Supernova was moderately helpful, but the Negative Swashbuckler was entirely useless. Indeed, overall I'm finding that I'm usually ending up with a lot of otherwise useless Negative jokers that stay in the Joker Hand because there's no reason not to take them and they'll otherwise clog up the shop pool. Optimal strategy was to throw a second-best enhanced card down hand 1, and set up for a second-hand Glass card for millions of points to take advantage of Card Shark. Having all those extra cards from booster packs and no particular inclination to use any more than one at a time meant that I was spoiled for choice. Getting through the rest of the White Stakes only decks might have been a little bit too ambitious, but I am making steady progress, having polished off the Green and Magic tonight. Beat the green deck with a full house build. I'd tried to make full house work in the past but never got very far with it. This was also my best scoring run by far.

blargh. managed to spoil a winning black deck run earlier by not paying attention to hand count. a stencil, a negative stencil, some other negative, and a few other jokers. Which does bring me to this: Stencil, even full up on jokers, was still a 2x multiplier. Might've been something more to it, but if not hey, free 2x multiplier at minimum if you see it.

 Finally won my first game, so now I can try decks that aren't the red deck. Jokers were Pareidolia, Smiley Face, Hack, Raised Fist, Red Card (+57), Castle (200 chips) Grabbed Hack late when a "I can't win this run, whatever" Ouija pull gave me a hand full of 4s, which actually had some great synergy with Smiley Face and Pareidolia. Still ended up using Mr. Bones twice though, and to reroll that last boss blind because I knew I couldn't deal with the Extra Large blind I originally was facing.

Finally beat the black deck. Barely got past the last boss because this game, without fail, will spam your hand with the 10 cards left of the other suits while ignoring the 40 spades in the deck

Good lord, I just made the biggest own goal of all time. My deck was based on Four Fingers and Smeared Joker to make big hands like Straight Flush and Flush House really consistently. I had used a bunch of Moon and World cards to convert most of my deck into Clubs and Spades, and I had Gluttonous for mult, and all my Spades counted as Clubs, so it basically went off for +20 and every hand. I was using Throwback and Blueprint copying it for scaling. So I was really incentivized to skip blinds, even if it wasn't necessarily a really good rewards. One of the tags was "re-roll the boss blind". I don't remember what the boss even was, but I was like, it's scaling and I can probably do better, so yeah, re-roll it. I re-rolled into The Club.

Game is awesome. I seem to be getting luckier than the folks above with the wheel (didn't hurt I had the oops all sixes die that run). Two things I hope they add. 1) History, where you can see the history of past runs with the deck (basically the end screen from each run. It doesn't have to go forever, but the last ten or so would be nice. 2) A button where you can see previous hands played this round/ante, mostly to avoid the trouble with "cannot repeat hand types" boss blind.

I seem to have reasonable luck with the wheel of fortune but one time I got the spaceman joker that has a 1 in 4 chance of upgrading the hand you played as my first and only joker and proceeded to play the next 8 or 9 hands without it firing once. When I was down to my last hand and had nothing left to play but a low pair it finally fired, leaving me 100 or so short of the target (enough that upgrading some of my many straights and flushed would have easily cleared it.)

It was also meant to be my $400 run, but in wanting to win, I took my eyes off the prize. Definitely getting to the point where unlocking the final 20% of the collectibles (well, more like 10-15% after I grab the remaining low-hanging fruit) is going to take specialized runs where getting the unlock at all costs takes priority over, y'know, winning. knowing that stone cards can be played along stuff like three/four of a kind and two pair is a big aha moment for me. makes me want to go play more but I already have like 13 hours into the game??? fun tip: the joker that lets you form straights and flushes with four cards instead of five? you can also trivially make straight flushes with it! the logic seems to be that if the hand can be both a straight and a flush, it's a straight flush - even if you don't actually have, say, five cards of the same suit. pair this with the joker that lets you skip cards in straights and you can just stumble into straight flushes all day long

After a bit I did cheat and give myself infinite rerolls because I wanted to go for all aces instead of all reds just for funzies.
