I've done the first part of that with wheel bearings before. Best part was they were tapered bearings and the outer sleeve was plastic. The sleeve as it spun got bigger in diameter and didn't contract after.

GotLag posted:Not necessarily, they could have been violently ripped off instead My understanding is that this is what happens. The bearing heats up from friction until the heat makes it seize. The built-up rotational kinetic energy is transferred to your finger extremely suddenly, ripping it off.

For some reason youtube keeps recommending me videos of Germans making jet engines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX8slWYEopk&t=368s I question the safety of this setup. No grating in front of the inlet, by the way.

these peeps use actual nontrivial metric and stress tensors but are, in turn, kinda computational incompetents in comparison to neural net peeps so in theory yes, de facto no. get em to use version control first lol

Scratch Monkey posted:Rollins is good in everything. He had the lead in a movie called He Never Died where he plays the biblical Cain and despite being a run of the mill low budget horror/action type film he was really good in it. They were probably obviously hoping for a franchise that, as far as I know never happened, but it was fun Rollins is not a particularly good actor. He's probably done a better job in this than he has in anything else he's been in (although having him play a cop in The Chase was brilliant), but there are some spots that are pretty rough. Overall a solid film and definitely worth a watch, though. I'm not sure if one sequel makes a franchise, but: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8569578/ It's also pretty good, but He is better.
