Sloan is a huge Cubs sponsor and the namesake of their field in Mesa. They created the piss troughs in Wrigley's bleachers.

We used to build things in this country!

(I was at Sloan Field using the non-trough urinals during the AzFL and was like "Oh hey the plumbing is the same brand as the name of the stadium, that's funny!" and then I remembered the edible I took not long before.)

I have no idea if Jakob Marsee is for real, but I'm hoping Preller and Shildt give him a chance to prove it. Dude has a great eye, and it's not as if there are a ton of other outfielder prospects kicking down the door.

Sloan is one of the larger plumbing fixture companies in the country. Sloan, Kohler, Delta, and American Standard are the big ones. Sloan seems to sponsor tons of Cubs stuff.

Padres fans need to chill on Marsee. He's barely played above high-A and has been labeled a fourth outfielder by numerous prospect writers. They should get a real centerfielder and let Marsee develop.

I don't think he is the solution, but he deserves a decent look.

I'm just excited that he's getting a chance to play, and that he's hitting.

Honestly surprised the Braves haven't tried to move d'Arnaud speaking of catchers

e: Like I get that you have to have a backup catcher but it seems like the value of what you could get for d"Arnaud is higher than the value you get having him backup Murphy

Old catchers really don't fetch much on the trade market.

Silent Protagonist
The Braves value having two starting-caliber catchers extremely highly and have since before AA took over

The team also considers d’Arnaud a core clubhouse guy

I can’t really envision a scenario where it makes sense to trade him. He’s not going to bring in a haul, and it’s not like the Braves have a desperate need for a back-end starter or middle reliever

also the dropoff to like Chadwick Tromp is huge, if you trade d’Arnaud and Murphy goes down for any amount of time you’re stuck with an immense lineup void for however long

folks we’ve been over this

It’s the Rockies turn to face LA in the DS (SF in 21, SD in 22, AZ in 23). This is the funniest outcome for at least two reasons:

1) duh it’s the Rockies ffs
2) it would mean that every NLWest opponent has beaten the Dodgers in the NLDS except the Giants, who lost to the Dodgers after setting a franchise wins record
