wouldn't it like... really gently caress up the foundations of a lot of buildings if you had a foot of subsidence within a decade? I know it's a general thing across a whole region but surely it's not going to be a uniform drop in every patch of land

yesterday I saw a big rear end GMC truck on the freeway with a license plate that said along the bottom “clean air vehicle (HOV)” the system works!

It's been four months at this new job and I'm already thinking of moving somewhere that attracts hurricanes so I can get jacked off by a cat 6. I'm ready for it to be my turn to film the disaster

quote:The Great Recycling and Northern Development Canal or GRAND Canal is a water management proposal designed by Newfoundland engineer Thomas Kierans to alleviate North American freshwater shortage problems. It proposed damming James Bay, using the techniques of the Zuiderzee/IJsselmeer, to prevent its waters mixing with the salt water of Hudson Bay to the north. This would produce an enormous freshwater lake, some of which would be pumped south into Georgian Bay where it would increase the freshwater levels of the lower Great Lakes. The flow would be roughly equivalent to "2.5 Niagara Falls". quote:If the James Bay dike is built, "Virtually all marine organisms would be destroyed." quote:The inter-basin connections would be ideal vectors for invasive species to invade new waters. quote:Capital costs for about 160 million users will exceed $100 billion. looks fine, ten thumbs up

i'm having enough kids to rule my local municipality. I've chosen our home based on low birth rates and aging demographics my kids will grow strong and expand northward, i have been diligently working on a manifesto that lays out the plan in excruciating detail. I have read this thread from end to end and now have the end date locked down on modern civilization. If you're just now having sex, you're already too late but swear fealty to me and your babies will lead an honest life toiling in the plastic fields or ethically and sustainably working the boomer kill floor, you also get to wear your recycled polyester Hawaiian shirt on casual fridays. For those who have been selfless and empathetic enough to not have their junk work, i and my megalomans thank you

Not record-breaking but still abnormal. What is crazy to me is that the forecast low for tonight is HIGHER than the average high by about 8 degrees. I'm not a Venus by Tuesday kinda guy, but I might be becoming a "collapse by 2025" kinda guy.
