It comes back in full force a few years later when they hire some guys from WWE to write for them (early 2000, and WCW folded in 2001 so it tells you how bad the writing got). Also Im misremembering my timelines. I started watching frequently when Nitro moved to the 2 hour shows in late '96.

guerrero vs jl was very good even with the slightly botched finish disco vs mr wonderful was meh, fun entrances though luger vs hacksaw was... well you got to see hacksaw do his thing for a bit i guess hogan winning that tag match was such a bad choice lol

yeah it was weird to be 3h in and not even notice the runtime. after we finished the 4.5h ppv we even went back and watched an hour more of the matches again, just a really solid event start to finish

I give this night's program 2 and a half stars out of five. There were the mysteries of the orient and some big boys. Also happy to see some big girls. The actual program though? Meh.
