What defensive suffixes does a ward build (frost claw runemaster) want? Resists, probably still some life, armor?

Cold DoT Werebear has really good clear, but very mediocre single target dps. Its also very very tanky, about as tanky as a life based build can get.

Fellow falconers I think I'm making a mistake by using the Flask as my filler ability, what skills are you guys using besides Falcon Strike/Dive Bomb/Aerial Assault/Smoke Bomb ? Any melee users at all? Or using bows? Shurikens maybe?

Shadow Daggers that I never cast manually, only via Aerial Assault.

Correct. I've seen plenty of builds that specialise a skill for automatic casting but don't actually slot it on the hot bar, opting to use the slot on the bar for an unspecialised traversal skill instead

I switched to the maxroll dive bomb build, which is now bow based and uses explosive trap as filler (mostly just for cooldown reduction on birb)

Did you take the passive that makes dive bomb and falcon strike instant? You won’t stutter step with them auto casting.

I’m curious how EHG feels about this. I think it’s cool and am currently doing just that with my Paladin, but I don’t know if I want it expanded a lot or not. It seems like it’s the kind of thing to have as a cool one-of kind of option but probably not best in numbers larger than that.

I always assumed that the design was: we have 5 buttons on the hot bar so the game is comfortable to play and not overwhelming for newbies, but the skill trees are full of automatic triggers so that there's more depth for build crafting

If the intention was that you only have specialised skills on your bar then there wouldn't be separate UI for choosing skills to specialise and choosing what skills go on your bar

couple things though. when an item I want is bought by someone else, I don't feel anger... I am at peace. a calm inner peace.. this is because I know that item found a loving home. it was not bought for profit. Huge Mental Difference!

I'm not sure what the legendary market is going to look like. the favor cost is kinda nutty to list and buy and if you use any items bought from the market you cannot list it so it's all self dropped. i think it's going to be hard to compete with the market (buying a decent 2lp legendary [the seller self dropped both pieces without cof to help] vs buying a 3lp unique and great base). plus you aren't really running julra for fun. so it's going to be missed slams , which already are undesirable. yeah, I guess I just dunno how that market will shake out

Yup, it's super common in LE builds to have specialized skills that aren't on you bar but are triggered by other skills.

My warlock has Bone Curse and Rip Blood specialized but neither of them live on the bar, they are both triggered by my primary skills of Chthonic FIssure, Chaos Bolts and Spirit Plague.

On a side note, the biggest downside of converting Chthonic Fissure's fire damage to Physical (bleed) is that the graphic changes to pure blood red, which just doesn't look as cool to me, but it's pretty awesome that this conversion change has a visual effects change in game.

One thing I noticed for Runemaster is that Flame Rush's Epilogue node (autocast Runic Invocation at the end of Flame Rush) requires you to have Runic Invocation on your hotbar.

So I'm assuming it's something they evaluate and balance on a case by case basis.

I assume so as well. Or at least I hope they keep it in mind - as they make more of these options and add more skills it seems like the kind of thing that could start having edge cases that they might not want.

I think specifically Runic Invocation requires you to put it on the hotbar before it gets the runes it requires to function

I know this has probably been said a lot before, and I know a lot of people have already been playing LE for years by this point, but this game is pretty much my vision for what I wanted D4 to be. Which is basically just D3 with +Skills, but the devs 100% get it. They understand that the maximalism of one ability proccing 10 other abilities and 6 novas flying around the screen is, in fact, fun.

My specializations & hotbar. The Explosive Traps throw my Acid Flasks, so no need to slot them on my hotbar. Shurikens primarily just for a 0 cost ability that refunds mana on hit when I go OOM.

As I'm tiptoeing into Empowered Monoliths my DPS does feel a bit low, especially after yesterday where I swapped some gear around and lost DPS to gain ~700 HP. But I still don't have my GODDAMN VIAL in order to consolidate my trees for better Damage nodes.

Are bosses immune to Taunt? Maybe I should use Decoy instead of Smoke Bomb, because I virtually never use it.

How do you beat that in practice? Is the expectation there that I'm supposed to craft gear that that point already?

Assuming that I'd only party up with people very occasionally and that gamefeel is a much higher priority, is the full offline mode a meaningful upgrade? I've seen some comments online that some skills feel better to use in that client, especially traversal skills.

Also I guess I should ask if the online mode is still borked.

Which dungeon/campaign skip? Sanctum? You should probably craft gear by that point if you’re not twinking, but the first tier should be pretty doable if you do the dungeon mechanics. For sanctum, the key notes are to hit d when she charges the big blast - if you time it right, she’ll never zone with you and you can dodge it entirely while keeping your dps up. The spinny beam is the other attack that seems to get people, but there’s a gap in the beams you can chill in.

In this case it's probably because Runic Invocation is exclusive to Runemaster but Flame Rush is available to all three subclasses, so RI has to be on the hotbar to prevent the other two subclasses from accessing an exclusive skill.

Pretty much manual dodging. A lot of bosses, especially dungeon bosses have one shots that will take you out no matter how well your Def is stacked. End game boss fights turn into a bit of bullet hell as all their stuff scales up. As far as gearing, I'm assuming it's meant for alts you can stack good affixes on from the start.

As an aside my falconer died to empowered Lagon last night when he had around 5% health left. I got the "You died to Lagon's blah' blah blah" , got up to use the bathroom, came back and I was instead at the blessing choice window, and seemed to also get full loot drops. I'm assuming birb keeps going even when you die?

Tarnop

Prior to 1.0, combining an exalted item with a unique to make a legendary would impart the level requirement of the exalted item to the resulting legendary. 1.0 changed this so the legendary keeps the original unique's level requirement.

So I assume the intended gearing for campaign skipping alts is to get some levelling uniques with LP and slam them with some tier 7 affixes

No, Static has the same requirement and it's a base Mage skill. Any skill that has a passive effect like that (Runic Invocation's runes, Static's charges, Enchant Weapon's passive damage bonus) has to be on the bar to take effect so they don't have to track those effects for skills you're not using.

Yeah I found a staff called like dragonpact or something and it's great for a necro fire minion build, but it's got this +1 elemental skills implicit modifier that like... idk who that's for lol. There are nodes for skeletal mages to turn them into pyromancers and cryomancers, and same for turning the golem into a fire golem and an ice golem so maybe it's for that

The recent posts about Flame Rush reminded of the Runemaster I did last version based on the Hydrahedron build on Maxroll. It wasn't really comfortable using the turrets for clearing, so adjusted things to make Flame Rush autocast the Big Bada Boom Invocation. It made monoliths super fun, zipping around and exploding wherever I landed. And for single targets the hydras worked a lot better and still hit plenty hard. The biggest issue was the lag making me rubberband sometimes, which may have been fixed in the latest release. Also aiming the blast from the Runic Invocation could get a bit fiddly. It blasts in front of the character, not around (which would have been far better IMO).

There was a post a few pages back asking about a movement skill based build, this might work out as well.

I took this up to low corruption empowered monoliths before I stopped. I'm pretty sure it could have pushed further with better gear. Here's a link to the build if you want to try it out. https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/5Bxn0w1A I haven't played this character since the last version so it might work better/worse now.

Yes.

Also some skills have specializations that change one tag to another, so if a skill is changed to a fire skill by specializing it also gets those kind of bonuses even if it usually wouldn't
