As if you ever needed proof that architects hated children. e: what a snipe sorry. Here's something, I took this video 14 years ago when I was working construction, cutting granite with a dull saw to make a facade for a multimillion dollar house nobody in my generation could ever afford, hating my life. I knew things would get better (and they did) and wanted something that my future self could look back on. I think probably also something to keep me motivated in school. The sound is extremely loud and grating which I remember being part of what I wanted to capture. Open in a new tab after you turn your volume down. https://i.imgur.com/1PO5sA3.mp4 Site pic: I don't see this style of cladding anymore now that I think about it. One bedroom, one bath, 800 square feet. Are they just...not counting the destroyed bit and pretending like what's left is a proper building?

Yeah, Juneau is VERY land scarce, and that particular lot's worth is probably 2/3rds of that asking price. There's basically nowhere left to build there.

There's a house at the bottom of my road that is not only at the bottom of a hill but was built lower than the road so there a sloping drive down to it. Also, the main drains on the street are clogged so in heavy rain it all drains down the road. Mostly it seems to go into the other houses at the bottom and flood their garages, even ours flooded once but that turned out to be because the PO had let the drainage gully fill up with gravel off the driveway spookykid posted:Holy lol

Surely a condemned building has to be destroyed, and the fact that some of it remains is therefore undesirable.
