Capt.Whorebags posted:Whatever happened to the Multi-Function Polis that the Japanese were going to build for us back in the 80s/90s? Was planned in the 80's when it looked like Japan was gonna be an expanding economic powerhouse forever. Cracks started showing in the optimism around Japan's growth around the same time the South Australian State Bank collapsed and the SA economy went into the shitter. South Australia wasn't in a place to fund any of it, Japanese development overseas became harder to get money for, and the Federal Government had little enthusiasm for a scheme that was attracting loser stench. Plan was canned, and the first parts of land assigned for it became Mawson Lakes, which started trying to be quite luxury and futuristic, but rapidly became a medium density standard housing development. Dry Creek and other nearby areas which were earmarked for future MFP construction remain fairly undeveloped, and will become housing estates in the next decade or so.

Kathryn Campbell resigned from her new job at Defence for $900,000 PA overseeing the AUKUS deal. She still retains her honours (AO and Bar). That's it. There was a public apology from parliament (That 51 LNP members voted against) and much hand wringing but so far after 12 months and a sea of pain we have two clowns lightly bitch slapped. It is the Australian Public Service so trying to go after any of them will be way more effort than it is worth. From the APS itself, if they try to push, they will just push up sick and stress leave and public servants that further an agenda to go after other public servants will mark their careers. From the politicians, going after public sector job security is always a loser unless there is a big payoff. The general public don't get a say in this, the same customers will be at the benefits office next week just as they were last week.

It was originally labeled ‘vaping associated pulmonary illness’ (VAPI) [2], but ‘e-cigarette’ was later added to the title by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Canadian health authorities, by contrast, chose the label ‘vaping associated lung illness’ (VALI) [3]. While the CDC’s name includes ‘e-cigarette’, all evidence points towards Vitamin E acetate-contaminated illegal tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) vapes as the cause, and no research has identified any chemicals found in nicotine e-cigarettes as the cause [4, 5]. Vitamin E acetate is not soluble in nicotine e-liquids and has never been detected in nicotine e-liquids [6]. quote:Scientific consensus overwhelmingly holds that nicotine electronic cigarettes (ECs), although not risk-free, are considerably lower risk than combustible tobacco, as they provide a means to inhale nicotine without combustion Captain Theron posted:Has it decreased smoking in total, or has it just shifted some portion to vaping?
