Book design is an art form and craft of its own. It's important in function and feel and how it looks. A good book deserves a good cover and binding.

The best books deserve heavy locks and chains and guards properly wary of the ancient forces contained within.

finally managed to make a good looking 3D run cycle. gamer hell yeah

i'm finding animation a lot less intimidating now that i'm understanding it primarily as an exercise in patience and refinement, much like with a lot of art. just having reference open and applying some intuition to how physics affects a body can get you shockingly far, even without much formal training in the matter

I confused myself...

Everyone keeps talking about the image quality in Rebirth being unplayable in Performance mode, meanwhile I don't see an issue with it, while Graphics mode is unplayable because whatever implementation of 30 FPS they're doing makes me immediately motion sick the very moment I have to move the camera.

They both go slightly too far in each direction and feel bad as a result. A 'balanced' mode that falls somewhere in between would be greatly appreciated.

Played Remnant: From The Ashes for the first time today. Right after I started some random stranger joined my session (I didn't know it was open) and we proceeded to go fumble our way through 5-6 bosses, never uttering a word and only using the emotes. I think they were also new to the game.

We went to a desert area and I found a dog I could pet, and I think my co-op buddy figured out that gave us a summoning ability where the dog kept assisting us inside the dungeons. Very useful ability.

Anyway, cool game.

finished mission 7 in cruelty squad. i don't love this enough to seek out the bonus levels so i guess i've got 4(?) levels left and then i'll be done with it. overhyped game, but not a bad game either, just a bit too simple and the AI and enemy readability are both garbage

Saw Dune 2 recently and gotta say, not bad at all! As someone who read the first book and thought it was mid as hell, I feel like they did a very good job of making it an entertaining film, if a little bit long. Got no interest in any of the Dune games though unless I can roleplay as Sting from Lynch's adaptation.

Same. The menus feel laggy in 30 fps, the graphics become very blurry if the camera moves at all which is, suprise, all the time.

The performance mode feels comparable to lets say FF15 or heck FF13 which are still really nice looking games all things considered. And it feels very stable 60 unlike FF16

I payed for Yuzu once so I could play my legit backup of TotK the day it came out. And so a family member could keep playing on the Switch. The free Yuzu had some rough problems with it for those couple weeks. After that I got to keep the Early Access version forever, but it autoupdates and sometimes a game would just stop booting. Realized EA was more of a beta testing track, and the "support" perk was needed for those Patreon testers.

Mixed feelings now. Insane if they made 2 mil. Weird that in a roundabout way I paid Nintendo to play my Switch games on PC. Good that the individuals are shielded by a LLC. hosed to have paid tiers in an Open Source emu. Absurd that the devs used the same discord to share and discuss ROMs between themselves. Probably nasty stuff would have come out in Discovery if they went to court.

Switch and 3DS emulation is probably going to stagnate for a bit.

I have a friend who calls stuff like FF7 Remake's performance mode 'unplayable' and holy poo poo I'm glad I'm not like that. Screw having graphical standards, if the game is fun to play I don't care if the textures look muddy when you walk up to them. I grew up with <20 FPS gameplay, with herky-jerky loading as model phased into the world, I don't give a fuuuck anymore

I used to be like that, l can deal with 30 fps in most games but would still vastly prefer 60. Unstable fps is awful though and takes me out of the experience for sure.

No and that's probably out of the question at this point. You can smooth it out by setting motion blur to 1 or 2 but outside battles you get frame dips.

On the bright side, Ryujin yet lives and both Yuzu and Ryujin can both run all the Switch games unless one came out today then maybe Yuzu can't play it anymore. Switch life cycle is coming to an end anyway, can't even think of any specific Nintendo game I'm waiting on anymore.

Here's hoping the launch Switch 2s are easily cracked and an emulator is made with upmost swiftness.

by most accounts 3ds emulation was already stagnating due to the lack of development on Citra (Shitra) so hopefully this lights a fire under someone to do it properly

In the same boat as you. I dont see what others are talking about. Performance mode looked great on my 55” 4K tv. Do we both just have eye sight that bad?

I guess just during actual gameplay its really a non issue.

Has Suicide Squad been updated yet to not require online? I know that is suppose to be added post launch. I would consider the game after that update and if its on sale real cheap. Like 80% off.

Why make a product people can enjoy of a type that by its nature cannot be oversaturated? We could instead take a heavier investment risk in hopes of winning the same lottery that barely any companies have won in a massively oversaturated market.

I'd say they were going for the long game because when the current young generations who have been conditioned from birth by these sorts of casinos will turn into adults who want to feel some.nostalgia while also whaling for all the crap they couldn't get as kids... But our dear capitalists cannot see, act, or plan further than they can fling their own poo poo.

They published the best selling game of last year (Hogwarts) that is still in last month's top 10 best sellers that has no live service elements. Time to make live service Harry Potter? Like what's the plan? Make Hogwarts Legacy 2 but only release the 2nd half of the game every two months spread out over two years? And charge for cosmetics?

I guess Hogwarts Legacy was already there pretty much. The game had loving randomized loot / gear score, scaling damage sponge enemies, and the same floating spiky bullshit aesthetic in any original architecture and art designed for the game and the rest was just lifted wholesale from the movies.
