Thing is, I don't totally disagree with elements of the ideas from that Boomer meme. The corporate media has disgraced itself in a lot of ways over the past eight years, and locking articles behind paywalls (while whining about democracy "dying in darkness" or people not being informed) is incredibly disingenuous. But yeah, the Fairness Doctrine is one thing you could do to partially fix the problem and people who post this sort of thing would never be for that.

It's obviously not the worst part of transphobia, but god, I hate the infantalizing language that right-wingers use to describe trans people when they're not just flat-out misgendering them. They're "gender confused", or "unsure of their gender," because obviously you know better than them. The whole point is that they know their gender, way more thoughtfully than you've ever experienced yours. I mean I realize they do it because they think of gender as an extremely strict biological thing so it's useless to try to convince them of this, but I'm still mad about it.
