I'm tempted to write something bigger about this experience some day, because it was surreal to have something online make its way into my real life enough to completely uproot the balanced life of someone I love. gently caress LibsofTikTok, I hope she's deplatformed and launched into the sun someday soon. She's the Pied Piper of Bigots.

He is totally hosed. There's a much more simple and obvious way this will (and is) playing out. Loans require due diligence and often it's based on the counterparty risk. Trump through one means or another got a bunch of bullshit loans where they thought his risk was low. Now where his risk is maximum they're going to scrutinize the gently caress out of any loan application especially when the judge laid out in plain language his risks. Just like if you went to the bank and asked for 100 mil they're going to ask you to do a fuckload of paperwork and ask a lot of questions. I wouldn't be surprised if these kinds of loans probably don't normally close in 30 days. Which is probably happening but it's nobody's fault except pmurT.

Is there anything preventing him from doing so? Actually, yes there is, I believe. You can only give gifts of a certain amount per year. So that is out but a loan is a possibility. Dunno how the court will view a massive personal loan, though.

I would also note that is a further complication of loaning or bonding Trump the money, if he loses he will have to liquidate assets and 1. we know the Trump stench has significantly devalued assets where fair market value may not be fair market value when it will be remembered as that "Trump thing". The values of condos in Trump Tower are already suffering a great deal compared to what would otherwise be comps. Secondly, if he does have to liquidate, he will end up with a massive tax bill.
