It's not up on avherald.com yet, but I'd be wildly surprised if this wasn't a United maintenance fuckup instead of a classic Boeing blunder.

21 year old airframe, compressor stall, the engine was still running when they returned to Houston.

Subakh ul kuhar!
I know it's real easy right now to blame Boeing for these but these are both older airframes. Boeing is completely hosed up but don't let the FAA off the hook, or United Airlines for that matter.

The "consequences" of risking your safety are, quite literally, a cost of doing business now.

our dryers just have a vent for the hot air on them and a filter for the fluff

no need to plug it into a hole

huh, weird. Ours have a filter somewhere in it that you clean out every load, but we still vent it outside after. You'd cook yourself or your AC unit pretty quickly venting it indoors here in Florida lol. Are dryer holes about as common as homes with AC units (that aren't in a window) where you are?

theres usually a window and/or a door to the outside in the laundry

Probably use heat pump dryers, which don't have a hot air exhaust. They use a condenser/heat pump to pull moisture out of the hot dryer air and just recirculate it, instead of constantly exhausting hot air. Uses less electricity but dries clothes slower because it can't pull all of the moisture out of the air.

Dis is amazing!
I gotta try dis!

It's been like 40 years since I was there, but Australian clothes dryers are basically this:

most laundry rooms in places I've lived have been pretty far from exterior walls, current apt has two units per floor and the room is right up against the wall that splits the two units. I've only ever seen them closer to the outside of the house in rural areas. makes a good bit of sense, running everything between the two units centralizes things in a way that it wouldn't for a single-unit building
