Good movie not nearly as great as i expected but it's essentially part 2 of 3 and ends as such. To people on a diet of MCU blockbusters it probably feels like true art. It's very much a better film then most because of how it's prioritizes show, don't tell. I think most modern comic book movies have more dialogue in 30 minutes then this move has in its entirely.

Definitely doesn't bother to explain any of the socio-political backstory and for the better. It's a much tighter retelling of the core parts of the original novel from a modern writer's perspective. Lots of major changes too that are big improvements from the book. The original was very much a product of Frank Herbert being horny old man wrt the treatment of women, no idea how they are going to do the next book without massive changes.

In conclusion, they cut out the Stietch Orgies, 2/10 for bowing to woke social justice snowflakes.
