Utterly wrong and inappropriate compared to a genuine comic.

It's from the cricket test match in NZ that just finished today. Or the previous one from last week

More like silly mid wicket to me.

I love the Silly positions in cricket, which mid wicket isn't one of, because it just means standing exactly where you're going to get smashed in the face by a cricket ball at 100mph. And people just thought, well that's silly.

I don't see it as all that different from the MLB, where teams play each other in series' so they see each other two to four days in a row.

Cricket seems much more incomprehensible, but that's probably just because it's had almost no cultural impact outside of the core area where it's played, unlike baseball.

I read the BBC news site sometimes, occasionally there'll be an article about cricket, and half the words read like they were made up on the spot

Maybe you mean baseball in general but if not, the alternative is worse. Playing that kind of packed schedule but going to a different city each day would be terrible for the teams.

Last time I checked, "the core area" where cricket is played has more people than the earth!!! (Or close.)

Cricket, like baseball, is entertaining in part because it can lead to moments when a hard spherical object slams into a player's crotch.

No one outside of the red countries gives a single poo poo about cricket. Yes, the Indian subcontinent has fifty billion people, but still.

I guess the same is true with baseball, it's basically the US, Japan, Venezuela, and uh...the Dominican Republic? But through American pop culture, I still more or less know how it's played, as a kid we would even play a simplified version of it from time to time.

All the bases in baseball are woefully defended and even the lightest armed platoon could take the all within minutes.

And the US considered itself a military superpower!!!!
