Joe Douglas doesn't understand that you have to pay market value, or even above market value, to get good players if you suck as a team. You can get bodies to play for your team for bargain prices but then you end up losing games which is something that Joe Douglas is loving fantastic at.

The issues more with Parker were that he wasn't actually very good at winning contested catches while getting none and that the Patriots had pretty much no one at all getting separation so it was compounded.

I don't think there's many roster or cap situations around the league where you need to be paying Christian Wilkins and Robert Hunt the kind of money they got. Like maybe if you just got off a tank, and you've got an expansion level roster and money to burn, but if you had $50m free going into free agency I wouldn't want to do that.
