I liked DQ11's battle theme but the world map theme is oddly weak, probably one of the weakest in the series

You can switch it to the DQ 8 one in new versions.

dq music sounds fine but it all kind of blends together to me. like every ff game has its own distinct sound and every dq boss/battle theme sounds exactly the same. ig thats the intent since its a comfort series but idk

Oblivion is only better than Skyrim if its modded to take out the level scaling system.

That system sucks and makes it easy to build a character that just gets weaker and weaker throughout the game.

I never really thought about it before but the only DQ music I can think of after years away is the default title music and this track:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4nWIMYAJyM

Which I think is used as the slime academy music in 11

I was watching simpsons at 0.75 without knowing until a scene where homer and bart were getting back massages at a hotel and the noises they were making were super drawn out like a youtube poop

A testament to how poor of a theme 11's is, imo

if I were to suddenly have the urge to play a jrpg after many years of not playing one (FFX being the last one I've played and didn't finish due to a unfortunate scratch on the disc that broke the game) and generally being a noob to the genre, what would be the quintessential game to reintroduce me to the genre that is available across modern platforms?

Persona 3 Reload, Dragon Quest 11, Star Ocean Second Story remake, the FF Pixel Remasters if you want something more retro styled, specifically 5 and 6
