He is also playing like a point guard when he brings the ball up or gets it at the top of the 3pt line. Looking to pass more than score in those situations. Well, that and he has more burst and his bounce is back.

I am really digging watching the Thompson twins. I hope there's room in this league for non shooter wings who are terrifying on the glass and absolute beasts on the defensive end. I did not expect either of them to be so good defensively right away. They play for bad teams so only the hoops cognoscenti are hip to how fun these guys are. I guess Dort is a decent comp, but I think he maybe had more offensive game as a rookie?

One of the reasons I had so much trouble warming up to them in the publicly-available draft process is I thought the defense was a bit performative. Like they were 1-3 years older than almost everyone they played against and it's hard for me to take that sort of thing serious. But I was definitely wrong, they go just as hard at actual NBA players. I think a lot about Mikal Bridges, although also he was a much more developed offensive player.

I think they have a super-Okogie/Corey Brewer kind of role in front of them which I think still exists in the NBA.

Amen has a lot more upside as an offensive player despite having the worst shot. He will be able to get paint touches at will and collapse the defense. Even when teams sag off he can use his athleticism to create problems. Ausar seems more of a dunker spot guy where you need big men who are floor spacers. More of a role player. It’s not impossible that they both completely rework their shot. They might as well and both would transform their game.

I think there's some underrated side movement there that's really special. I think other guys can do the jump, the timing, the distance, no problem. But not at an angle, so if they try that poo poo, they foul. Herb can make a run like that and catch it in a way where it's all clean. Just a fabulous sense for where he is in space.
