It's funny too because when I first saw Bob's Burgers style it made me irritated. Then I watched the show and it was great and it totally works. Squigglevision at least had an alleged reason, it's that the shows were improvised audio of repartee between two talking heads and if you animated that with a budget of  it ended up looking laughably boring and static. It was just a hack to make what was essentially a radio show into something you could put on TV^^ Big Mouth/Human Resources are ugly but it's a very studied kind of ugly, it ends up having a lot of charm if you let it. You want ugly how about King Star King
