You're supposed to cut that fucker square, lay down hot asphalt and compact it with a roller. Instead they literally just leave a pile of loose gravel in the middle of the road and call it finished.

I got stuck in awful traffic because of one of these earlier today. The “patches” it made were useless and the highway was covered in lovely asphalt gravel for miles. Completely useless

When you see a pothole, you dump it out. Rinse, repeat. TBH, it feels like a much better/more efficient solution than that crappy bitumen-spaying truck.

I thought beavers usually slow down water height variations. They're aquatic animals after all, wouldn't be good if their little pond went up and down a lot. Although I think they do tend to make the water a bit more wandering.

From what I understand, the sound of flowing water is like nails on a chalkboard for beavers and they will never stop trying to plug holes.  Dethlinger Teich: More finds than expected - Meyer visits The Dethlinger pond near Munster is being cleared since October. Significantly more explosive ordnance has already been found than expected. Environment Minister Christian Meyer (Greens) is visiting the company that is disposing of the finds today. Meyer is accompanied by the district administrator of the district of Heidekreis, Jens Grote ( independent). The two will also sign a further financing agreement during the visit. For such large projects, the money is only ever paid out in stages, explained the Ministry of the Environment. According to the district, the fifth agreement, which is being signed today, will secure the work until the planned completion in 2027. 72 million euros have been earmarked for the Dethlinger Teich, according to the ministry. 18.3 million euros of this will be provided by the state, with the remainder coming from the federal government. In the first one and a half metres - that is the first layer - significantly more has already been found than had been expected, according to the Heidekreis. By the end of February, 20,000 detonator charges, 300 grenades and ammunition scrap had been found. Chemical weapons were not yet among them, but are also suspected in the pond. Despite the finds, the project is on schedule and on budget, according to the Heidekreis. Over the next five years, seven more such layers are to be removed by the specialists in Munster.
