Love the Bob Crowley twist in SGR. Our Boarding House (May 14-16, 1925; timg because one of those side comments is a little worrisome, at the very least.) Out Our Way: Cowboys Revisited (May 15, 1925) Toonerville Folks (July 31-August 2, 1922) Dok's Dippy Blockade (February 23, 1915) Obviously based on a real thing. Little Lefty, in which sea serpent shenanigans were fun, but time to get back to labor issues. (December 18-20, 1939) EasyEW fucked around with this message at 02:18 on Mar 21, 2024 |

Luann can't write people starting relationships in a healthy manner, you mean to tell me they're going to botch a major issue in an existing one? Looking forward to this woman being browbeaten. I don't usually read Daddy Daze and the two cracking jokes while staring intently at a corpse is a bit off. Mark Trail yesterday: recap panel, recap panel. Mark Trail today: the same recap but now three panels. Yeesh. Did Phantom get the regular artist back or did they kick the pinch hitter in the rear end? A lot less stupid facial expressions, something is actually happening, had a chuckle at the sheer goofiness of the goons. Strontium posted:Macanudo Get 'em, Glimbo!

I certainly can't begrudge him reusing a panel here or there, and he's done it before. It just feels weird to see the same art in two strips directly next to each other in sequence. And yes I know plenty of artists do it in the same strip these days, but the downside to being someone like Hal Foster is you end up with very high expectations for your work.

THORN, November 26-30, 1984 (Continuing from his discussion of the prophecy strip) quote:Now, the big recap strip on the other hand is a little more interesting in retrospect. That Thorn logo with the character heads was designed specifically for my syndicate submission packages, so that shows you where my head was at. I was disengaging from the work. And honestly, I think the recap was as much for me, as it was for the readers. And that concludes Fall 1984. Can't wait for the winter to see what happens after that cliffhanger!
