Didn't you mean to ask about flowers?
Luann can't write people starting relationships in a healthy manner, you mean to tell me they're going to botch a major issue in an existing one? Looking forward to this woman being browbeaten.

I don't usually read Daddy Daze and the two cracking jokes while staring intently at a corpse is a bit off. :v:

Mark Trail today: the same recap but now three panels.

After 25 years of weekly full-page full-colour fully-enthralling cartoons, Hal Foster's allowed to take a panel off.

I certainly can't begrudge him reusing a panel here or there, and he's done it before. It just feels weird to see the same art in two strips directly next to each other in sequence. And yes I know plenty of artists do it in the same strip these days, but the downside to being someone like Hal Foster is you end up with very high expectations for your work.

(Continuing from his discussion of the prophecy strip)

quote:

Now, the big recap strip on the other hand is a little more interesting in retrospect. That Thorn logo with the character heads was designed specifically for my syndicate submission packages, so that shows you where my head was at. I was disengaging from the work. And honestly, I think the recap was as much for me, as it was for the readers.

And that concludes Fall 1984. Can't wait for the winter to see what happens after that cliffhanger!

Some inside baseball on this strip - after Gannett media limited the available strips that would be published in their block, a couple of comics bloggers theorized this may be a move to get rid of Doonesbury, the only "liberal" voice on the comics page, until Georgia Dunn pointed out that the actual threatened group here was women.
