Presenting putting together Falin and the Warg's skeleton like another dish is such a good joke. But man between Falin saying her goodbye last episode and the way they had to revive her this episode I feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop and kinda dreading it.

Wait was that the Elf from the Living Paintings who was chasing Laios??? Called it when I said they'd use dragon meat to revive Falin. Maybe not via the nutrients in the dragon's flesh but caloric content is close enough. That was a gnarly resurrection that also happened to be hilarious. So using magical meat for the resurrection might have given Falin some side effects like instinctive magic use and she can apparently see visions of people in the castle town? Nobody else saw that little girl in the house, right? Gotta say I think the Twitter crowd was overselling the "oh man THIS is when the story gets messed up!" hints. It was really cool but still keeping with the deranged but ingenious vibe the show has had since episode 1. Great fun and building on what was already there rather than a shocking twist of events.

Senshi, you're not a monster expert but I'm surprised at you not putting two and two together wrt dragons plus flammable materials. Turning the dragon's burning chest cavity into an oven is a good recovery, though. And I want to see more of Chilchuck with a permanent wine bottle in his hands. Something about the way Laios was watching Falin chow down on the dragon pizza. I wonder if anyone was having "is this technically cannibalism?" thoughts about the dragon meat after it was used to resurrect Falin. Laios definitely was, at least for a moment. Excellent episode. Besides everything to love about it, I like the implicit "show don't tell" of how the logic of magic works. I'll say my weirdest observation first there is a 'blink and miss it' shot during the resurrection that makes the hole in dragon and the symmetry of its intestines reminiscent of a birth canal and spread thighs. I read a lot poo poo about Neolithic anthropology and now I see the pubic triangle imagery every where. I think this is cool, good, and rad. It may also be a gruesome parody of the natural birthing process. Either way, we are all born in blood. The only way this could have been more mythologically perfect is if her brother or her consort had physically exhaled the breath of Life back into her. I could also get into the practice of excarnation, but I only get so far up my own rear end Any way, Marcille deservers her own Waterhouse painting.

I appreciate using heat-resistant dragon scales as cookware, that's using every part of the buffalo right there. If they could skin that big bastard and cart the leather back up to the surface, that might put this whole expedition's finances back in the black. I'm sure it would be valuable to someone. Also given that we've seemingly resolved the main conflict of the series despite having half the season still to go, who wants to bet that Marcille's non-OSHA-approved resurrection is gonna have some Pet Semetary style side effects or something?

I imagine either the resurrection would fail, or it'd work but Falin would have bones inside her body that weren't hers and would be missing bones that were, causing significant issues and pain that healing magic afterwards could heal, but no one could use it since Marcille would be out of mana and Falin would be just revived and in a lot of pain.
