Game seems to run great outside of the city but once I'm in it it drops to about half what I get outside. Not unplayable at all tho and game is fun and very Dragon's Dogma so far. For quests do I just go around finding people that talk to me or is there a quest board like in the first game? Also, do I need to talk to them or will they stop me if they have a quest?

5800X3D/3080ti/32gb ram Playing on my 4k TV game runs well for me capped at 60 with basically default settings and DLSS set to quality. Definitely get frame drops but it's nothing too egregious, although I haven't been to the capital yet so who knows how that'll hold up. I'm sure it'll be a better on my monitor in 1440p. I don't remember if it was this way in DD1 but if you get killed in combat you can pause quickly before you actually fall over dead and scarf down food/potions and you basically come back to life. Pretty handy!

Okay am I understanding this quickly; if a pawn has done a quest you are about to do, you can hire them and they will help guide you to the quest location and help you complete it?

You guys seeing your Steam friends' pawns in the Rift? Someone else on my friends list is playing right now and I figured their pawn would have shown up by now, but either I can't see them or there is no easy way to tell which one of the pawns belongs to a friend.

This seems to look good and run well for me, at least in the more open areas. It's possible my standards have been heavily altered by getting used to FF7R's performance mode, so just playing a game in 4k again is nice. I can't check my actual FPS since for some reason neither NVidia's overlay nor Fraps are working, but having the cap set to 120 is definitely smoother than capping at 60 when I'm in open areas, so it must be something notably over 60. I'm playing an Archer, and the controls are going to take some getting used to. Also, the way the character face creator thing works is brilliant. It's a wonderful way to give the player more freedom to create something unique without the difficulty of dealing with all the sliders.

For PC players, apparently setting Dragon's Dogma to high priority in taskmanager provides significant framerate increases, let me know if it works as I cannot test it right now.

Spent a few hours playing tonight - the performance is definitely not great but in the wilderness, even during combat, I didn't notice any real slowdowns and it felt basically like DD1. Can't wait to spend a lot more hours playing it tomorrow.

a friend of mine is having a weird bug, where the NPC you're supposed to escort to the capital for the quest In Dragons Wake followed him into a cave and just like, won't follow him out. he's also completely uninteractable and can't be picked up or moved manually. he tried to go to the capital without him but they turned him away and said he needed the NPC. any idea how to proceed here?
