I've seen some people saying doing this can get you soft banned from the servers (i.e. no online pawn access), but that sounds like bullshit since not everyone even uses cloud saves and it would be really boneheaded to ban someone for installing the game on a fresh console / PC and starting a new game. Still just something to be aware of though, even if it's just rumourmongering.

I can at least see other's pawns online but who knows about mine?

Capcom definitely does that poo poo for the shareholders, just like how they were hyping up the use of "advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI)" non-stop in the marketing materials, when they are really talking about the pawn AI. I think the way to look at Capcom stuff is that they're placating the shareholders while not actually compromising the game in any meaningful way, which is about the best you could hope for.

If I have a rented pawn carry my poo poo, and then I want to dismiss them, do I need to move all my poo poo back into my inventory first or will the game drop my items that the dismissed pawn was carrying into my inventory(?)/storage(?) automatically?

Everything they were carrying goes into your storage, unless you had them equip something they didn't come with (they will take that with them).

Thanks.
If it goes into the storage then I need to make sure to move the stuff I might want to use soon into my own inventory then, since they have so many rift portals out in the wilds now.

These Golden Trove Beetles permanently increase your carry weight limit, correct?

That's actually really nice, I'm going to hunt them down, my super buff and tall main guy is at Heavy despite me having stored everything I possibly could. He has the stamina of your 90-year-old grandma, but to be fair so do I irl

Played the game for two hours ad while I barely did anything the fact that you can just buy items and the game equips them for you along with the fact that tokens are now actually visible make it such a better experience. I'm a sucker for collectibles and DD1's handling of them was so bad. I'd often stare at the token and not see it.

Love that everything you do in this game feels like an adventure. The original DD captured this too, but somehow DD2 ramps it up to 11.

There’s always some poo poo about to go down right around the corner, and pawns perfectly capture the experience of playing AD&D with your dipshit teenage friends.

Hacked my way through a goblin cave and came out the other side at night time. Was pretty low on max health so went looking for a campsite I could set up at but ended up just stumbling through a bunch of tallgrass where I got jumped by more goblins, then some wolves joined, and then I aggro'd a saurian who immediately knocked my mage out. In the middle of this massive melee I hear a totally new monster cry and turn around just in time to get run over by a charging minotaur :allears:

I love that they've incorporated some of my favorite skills into the core of the class, like tusk toss just being a hold X move is incredible. The melee combat feels so perfect in this game and everything feels expanded beyond DDDA.

Really gotta get used to the controls, I keep wanting to hit RB to bring up my skills instead of LB. I love the Thief's powder keg move, climbing onto the face of an ogre and planting a bomb on it then detonating it while jumping away is just cool as gently caress.

For me it was enabling FSR3. Nothing helps you in the big cities, but that made my game pretty smooth out in the wilderness. DLSS did not help at all despite having a 3080.

The performance is pretty terrible. I'm running a 2080 super and a Ryzen 9 3900X and the rig is 4 years old, so it's not a powerhouse by no means - but I've been able to play stuff like RDR2, Cyberpunk, Starfield, BG3 etc. with very good graphics. DD2 doesn't look like a very impressive game either. A bit disappointed since I was really looking forward to it, at least in the first sequence you get control the FPS bounce about wildly from 35 to 55 or so. I have no idea would it be better to wait or just bite the bullet and accept it's never gonna be a lot better on this PC.

I managed to kill him by him getting stuck on a rock long enough for me to bomb him and my pawns get some good hits while he was knocked down. He killed me on one hit if I got close normally haha.

That’s the one! I felt sorry for the pawns Nick Cave and Woundwort; they died so I might live.

The same reason you'd buy it in any of the last decade+ worth of Capcom games - more money than sense to see that everything sold is easily obtainable in game. I have no idea why you'd buy red orbs in DMC5 but I guess some people did or they wouldn't keep adding that kind of thing to their game store pages.

To be 'fair' to them, it's effectively free money. Even if only a small number of people buy it you've turned a profit by adding something that requires no additional dev time except for implementing the DLC check.
